I'm trying to talk myself out of one. I want the Bergara B-14 Ridge because it already has a threaded barrel for my suppressor, and is in the pricing sweet spot for me.
I've got a B14 Hunter in 6.5 and love it. You won't be disappointed

If prior production rifles are out and I can't build a rifle I would probably just buy another Cooper. Some people don't like Coopers for various reasons but if you can stand the wait (if you order one) I think the vast majority of people are happy with them. The last one I bought was brand new but chambered in 17 Remington, I wasn't really interested in that caliber but I got the rifle for such a good deal I could afford to send it back and have it re-barrel and still save money versus buying one new. It took 14 months to get back for a simple re-barrel which is my biggest problem with the company.

Anyway, I would still buy another rifle from them because I like how they look and feel and they shoot straight.

I hint with a handful of guys shooting big magnum rounds, 300 short mags, 338 Lapuas, 7mm mag, etc, etc. They miss more game than anyone. The guys with the smaller guns tend to be more accurate and comfortable when ahooting. I am teaching my boys to just be better shooters and aim small miss small. We hunt elk, mule deer, blacktail, antelope, coyotes....and for all those. The 30-06 rem. Works great. With that said, I would like to try out a Nosler 28, seems like a solid round, super fast and reliable.

For me
.....it would be a Mel Forbes New Ultra-Lite Arms M24. An action of his design, utterly relable with a Timney trigger. The stocks are made to fit the individual user and extremely durable. I would have hium put on a 24" Hart SST bbl chambered in .280 AI loaded with 160 gr Partitions and RL22 in Nosler brass. It would wear a Leupold 2.5-8x VX3 or 3.5-10x Leupold . Add a vero-vellini neoprene sling or simple leather strap and in my opinion your good to go all over NA.

I have this rifle and cant justify another at this point.

I would by a Weatherby Mark V in 6.5-300 wby.
I?m currently building one. Vanguard First Lite, topped with a Leupold VX-5HD 3.5-15x44 cerakoted FDE to match the gun?s metalwork, sitting in Talley 1pc rings/mounts, hydrodipped in the First Lite fusion. I also had the Leupold Alumina scope caps hydrodipped in the Fusion to match the stock as well. Just waiting to get the hydrodipped items back and I?ll be putting rounds downrange.

After thinking about it I think that I would go with the 416 Barrett M99.

It has the range and knock down power for anything on the earth and a few things that are off of the earth. Just a plain Jane type of bolt action rifle with a muzzle brake that makes the first shot count.

That thing is just plain ugly! I guess you could put a shovel head on it and use it to dig a latrine.

Who needs a shovel head? Just shoot a few rounds into the dirt and you will have a nice trench or hole depending on the angle.

I'm interested in the Seekins Precision Havak in 6.5 PRC. I really like tang or 3 position safeties though.

I bought a new rifle for my son back in the summer. He is 12 now and wanted to upgrade. I bought a 6.5 CM in a Ruger American Predator. Upgraded the stock to a B&C, installed a mcarbo trigger spring (lowered pull to 2#) and glades armory tactical bolt. Great gun shoots good, .5" groups with 143 ELD-X bullets.
