There are some great bucks down here my way....but for some reason it always seems like the "MONSTERS" keep popping up up there where your at Ikeep....smh. I spoke to a biologist a few weeks back and she said one of the areas down here in the south produced epic trophy quality bucks....but I haven't heard of any "BIG" bucks coming out of that area in a few years now.
The first buck was taken outside of Pahrump

0_0! Really?! If its the area I'm thinkin about....I was just there!!! lol No lie!
I don't know the area the buck was taken in and I'm not familiar with the area either but I was very surprised of that big of a buck taken there because I've never heard of any bucks taken that far south before

I know the area VERY well....mostly every kid that likes the outdoors growing up here knows the area pretty well...heh its the only good camping spot close. I know there's deer there but never seen a biggie like the one in the pic. Its hard to draw in that area...and really not many people put in for that area either. And, success rate is well low.

That kind of makes sense. If there far and few between then if you find one he's probly a good one.

Pioche has some good bucks. I've heard. I've been through Caliente before looked like great country.
Yeah Rubies is pretty good...haven't got a chance to hunt there yet. I've camped there a few times and it was nice. I'll probably go scouting over there sometime in March or April if work permits. I'll probably put in for that area without question.

I think I'm going for 111-222 all late. I know they broke up the areas but I've hunted elk there and saw some of the biggest bucks I've ever seen in thoses areas.

IKC, there are some monster bucks in area 231 north of eagle valley. I was up there in August helping a buddy of mine with cow archery and seen some of the biggest bucks I've ever seen. We hunted around white rock but around Pearsons ranch and mt. Wilson they are monsters as well. A lot of bulls too, that is why it is so hard to draw a tag there. It is very dense juniper there so it makes it very hard to glass and locate. You have to put in time scouting and pattern them in that area.

Thanx! It's been awhile since I've been down in that area. I do remember the thick juniper. I also think it was real steep to..? Not my kind of terrain. I like steep and open.

The bio I talked to a few weeks ago said A,B,C areas are "trophy areas." I just have never hunted them....nor do I know anyone who has hunted them further than the outside area or around and about it.
