Area 60 is a great deer tag. Hit it beginning of Nov. and the elk hunters will not be as thick. You can stay in town and drive up to hunt within 30 minutes of most parts of that area on the forest. There are some nice white tail bucks up there too. You'll see hikers and such but way fewer in Nov.

Cool, thanks for the info. I hadn't thought about competing for space with elk hunters. I live in Cheyenne so I'm pretty familiar with the area, although I have only ever seen one buck up there and he was a yearling. I've seen many does.

Drew a buck and 2 doe antelope tags. Boy those draw odd got real screwy this year. I'm glad I went in the special draw. Now to figure where to burn my 5 deer points next year.

Just talked to the Game and Fish- I didn't draw because the guy I was applying with didn't have the preference points he told me he had. Very frustrating.

Unsuccessful Wyoming Area 89...... Last year everyone who applied for Special Tag with 7 or more points drew. This year I have 7 and no draw. Very frustrating.....

Dang! I guess the lesson is that it's worth looking up the points for people you apply with before you turn it in. Sorry to hear that.

Awesome! Congratulations, hopefully they get there snowy weather to help you out, been crappy the last few years. We're heading back there again for the region F tag to fight off the grizzlies

I haven't drawn an elk tag in 4 years, one of my friends hasn't drawn in 8. Yet I have another friend who has drawn 5 years in a row in area 7 for type 1.

My 17 year old drew a Elk tag back in February now my 15 year old drew a deer tag. It is going to be a blast it will probably our last trip together for a while after with college just around the corner.
