G&F said yesterday that their not releasing results till May 8th, the schedules day. I'm guessing after the NR unit 7 elk tags a year ago their making dang sure the numbers match on all draws from now on. With that said maybe they'll get enough phone calls that they'll say screw it and release them early.

Did they make a press release on the date? I know May 8th is what's on the website, but I've not seen any emails from the department. Last year they were out on May 1st. Oh, the area 7 and other area elk draw screw-ups were in the resident draw last year. I was one of the recipients of a 7 bull tag......for a couple hours at least.

When I called yesterday I was told the 8th.

I would imagine that they will release this years quotas prior to giving the draw results. I think that's the usual order of things anyway? I'm anxious to see what they end up with on the bison quota. I think they were planning on dropping the quota for bulls to 40.

I know they set the quotas and seasons a week or two ago in their commissioners meeting in Casper so they have them internally, but I don't think they've posted the final info yet on the website.

Finally had the meeting with my out of town hunting partner, and got our deer apps in for Wyoming. It's good to have all this extra time, but it can be a long wait to get-R-done. The next wait for the draw should be anti-climatic. My antelope partner just got back from Texas, and that is the next app to complete.
