    Work from home dudes

My office is based out of the house. I've been doing that for nearly 7 years now. It definitely takes some work getting used to. A lot of my work is done early in the morning and later in the evening. I also make sure and let my wife know when I need to get something done for a while so she...

I live NW of Wichita about 20 minutes, but hunt up in NW Kansas.

Looking to trade some whitetail information

I don't know a ton about 11/14 unfortunately. I do know, however, there are a ton of acres of wheat that go to double-crop beans in that area. I'd look for alfalfa that has a good stand and drilled fields to wheat. If the alfalfa has a thick stand, odds are they won't rip it up to put...

Nosler E Tip 300 win mag

I shot Nosler Partitions for years, but they were all custom reloads. No idea if they actually sell them whole or not, but they flew good and hit hard.

    Kansas

I've struck out so far, but a buddy shot a good one for his first one. Rifle opening means they will be scattering from all the pressure. I plan to be out there and sit as long as possible! Congrats on a nice buck zpooch

    hiking vs jogging to prepare

I don't have much to add. I'd keep with the jogging a few days a week if it doesn't hurt your knees or back and start shifting to pack training at least half the days. I don't have hills where I'm at, so I just set the treadmill to the highest incline and walk a few miles. I agree with...

    Finding a gym

I workout at the house in the garage. Really doesn't take much space. I have about a 10'x15' spot I do all my exercises in. Lots of free weights, body weight exercises, and olympic lifts. My wife goes to Planet Fitness, works out with a trainer there and loves it. I've just had a lot more...

The 2019 Mule Deer Success Thread!

This was my 6th year chasing elk and deer out west with bow or muzzy. Finally was able to knock one down this year in CO during muzzy season in a new unit to us. Gotta love chasing deer above the trees!

    Muzzy Powder Accuracy

I don't think I'm ready to attempt 200 unless its a follow up shot. I've actually been very pleasantly surprised as to how close my clean bore shot and fouled bore shot are together. For me, I don't see a need to fire a fouling shot to hunt with. Every rifle is a little different I guess...

    Muzzy Powder Accuracy

Well, I think I finally have it figured out the best I can for now. I shot a pack of Federal Bor-Loks and wasn't impressed with them at any powder charge from 90-120. After battling with the Federals and 250 grain Thors that shot well last year, I ordered a pack of 300 gr Thors to see if I...

    Muzzy Powder Accuracy

I've heard of the fouling shots, but dang didn't think of the ramrod. I'll have to remember that. I know I've shot it without it in before with the anticipation of having a second load ready to go and don't want to pull the ramrod out in the process of reloading and opt for just sitting it...

    Trekking Poles

S&S Archery CL Backcountry is a great option. I bought them last year and have zero regrets so far. Only used them for 12 days or so, but it was a very hard 12 days. Great group of guys there too in my opinion

    Bow tuning higher elevation?

I live at 1400 foot in KS and have shot at 11,000 and didn't see much of a difference when I shot out to 60. At 50 there was maybe an inch difference, but I couldn't tell if it was me or the arrow. I didn't mess with my sight. I'd be willing to be your setup may play into it as well.

    Slicktrick

I shoot 100s, but have shot the standard, magnum, and grizz trick from slick trick. The smaller the head, the better they fly for me. The Standards (smallest diameter) flew good out to about 60 before they started to drift slightly lower than field points. They were ony about 2" low at 80...
