    Replacement bolt

I have an old Sears & Roebuck .22 single shot model 41-103 that my dad taught us to shoot with. It is missing the bolt and wonder if anyone knows where knows where I might be able to find one. Yea I know it's a cheap gun but thought if it didn't cost to much to fix I would give it to my son.

    Wolf in Nevada?

I watched a hunting show where they were elk hunting near the Jarbidge wilderness and the showed what they said was a wolf track in the snow. Any of you guys who hunted there recently see anything that might show evidence of a wolf there?

    Archery Mule Deer

The looks is one of the reasons we see very few if any other hunters. You would be surprised how many bucks like these remote areas that you can't drive into. To Coloradoshedhead, another area you might take a look at is the Goshute mountains west of Wendover. I watched an episode of Fresh...

    Corned elk

Any of you guys ever make corned elk or venison? For the price of corned beef at the store I'm guessing you can make a much better piece of meat at home.

    Archery Mule Deer

Almost the entire range from Harrison pass south has very little private property blocking access. There are a lot fewer roads on this end also. The main problem people have is that the mountain is very steep. There are a couple of roads on the west side that take you way up high that might be a...

    Canada border crossing with firearms

I was just wondering what I have to look forward to when my wife and I drive into Canada with our trailer. What do I need to bring a couple of long guns and a shotgun across the border. What about a pistol, is that even allowed?

    Dutch oven cooking

I just saw another post about a "can cooker" but they look like cheap flimsy aluminum. My brother and I do a lot of dutch oven cooking since we hunt out of a trailer so weight is not a problem. Do any of you guys use dutch ovens?

the Old man is wanting to throw in the towel on hunting...?

I don't know if you guys hunt out of a tent but perhaps a trailer or RV with all the comforts would be some motivation. My dad hunted well into his 70's after my brother and I got a trailer. The last few years he went with us he didn't really care if he got a deer he just liked to go and keep...

    Title fight

What do you guys think about the upcoming Mayweather / Pacquio fight. I think it's about 5 years too late. Pacquio has been trying to get this fight done for years but Mayweather has finally run out of excuses, now that Pacquio is past his prime is the only reason Mayweather has agreed to it...

    Bugles in January?

I just got bag from a cow elk hunt and this is the latest I have ever been elk hunting. We found a herd of about 80-100 elk mixed of cow, small bulls and 2 or 3 big bulls. They were having quite a bulgling contest and was curious if it is common for them to be bugling in January.

    Elk shanks

I read an article somewhere about how people waste the shanks of our game animals into the burger meat. It said that cooked properly they were delicious. I know how much my wife and I like beef shanks slow cooked. So my question is whether any of you guys cook them like slow braised beef shanks...

    Late season cow elk

Just got back from my late season cow elk hunt. I was able to take a cow with the help of my son and my brother. Without their help it would not have been possible to pack out the cow. We found a good herd about two miles inside the Parsnip peak wilderness area. It was like a jungle walking in...

    Good eating antelope

I have heard some people say that antelope are inedible which I think is a bunch of bull. I have been lucky enough to draw 3 antelope tags in NV since 1989. I've never had a bad one. My wife and I think they are the best eating. My last one had been feeding in an alfalfa field and that was the...

I was just wondering if you guys that get to hunt whitetails and mule deer in the same state can tell me if there is a difference in the way they taste. Just curious.

    Photo tricks

Just wanted to share something that bugs the heck out of me. It's the people that bag a nice buck and then pose the deer and go sit about 5 or 6 feet behind it for the picture. They try to make an already nice buck look bigger than it really is. You are not fooling anyone. Just hold it by the...

Here is a pic of the turkey we raised this year. Forgot to take pic before wrapping and putting in fridge. I put beer can next to it for prospective. Live weight was 49lbs. Dressed weight is 41lbs. This is the biggest one to date.
