Imo there are to many bears and they have no fear of people since they never get hunted. I think having a hunting season for them might prevent some of these attacks.

When I lived in Utah they were crazy about shed hunting. Wyoming had to shut down the western part of the state because Utah folks would chase animals to get there sheds if on winter ranges. They’d use snow mobiles.

Getting a bow is personal preference. Go to your Local Pro shops not big box stores and shoot some. Have a budget and tell them what your looking for. Also buy a good quality release I see people buy a good bow and go cheap on a release. Also don't over poundage yourself.
