What is a good compound bow for hunting?

I feel you’re going to get a lot of answers. Almost all of them are good these days! It boils down to personal preference. Any of the big names will get you going in the right direction. Bowtech, Matthews, Hoyt, Bear, etc.... I currently shoot a Matthews, but had always shot bowtech before that for years. The Matthews I bought just fit me and shot for me the best when I was trying out bows.

I’ve owned many, mostly Hoyt and Mathews. Both have been good for me. I think a big mistake guys make is choosing a bow with too short of axle to axle length. If you’re going to be a serious bowhunter, buy a bow at the upper end of your budget, because I believe for the most part you get what you pay for.

Getting a bow is personal preference. Go to your Local Pro shops not big box stores and shoot some. Have a budget and tell them what your looking for. Also buy a good quality release I see people buy a good bow and go cheap on a release. Also don't over poundage yourself.
