It's not too bad once you get used to it, but I agree it can be confusing at first. My very first year I applied for both Bighorn and Desert Sheep … I missed the part about that not being allowed. They threw out both of my applications and I did not get a Bighorn Pref Point. Lesson learned.

We’ve been discussing that on a few different threads here. You can see there are a lot of of different opinions by just reading a few of them. Bottom-line, it’s anybody’s guess right now.

Hey Bones... Maybe we're talking past each other, but I don't think what you're saying is the way it works here in Colorado,. If you put the area you want 1st choice and do not draw, you get a preference point. The PP isn't your 2nd choice … it's just a PP. Then you still have a chance to draw...

I guess you know you could have put the area you wanted first choice and if you drew it great, if not you'd still get a preference point.

Yeah, I agree. The good Colorado units seem to take a lot of points. You can bulid points in WY and be eligible for a decent hunt sooner.

Good point. If states reduce NR tags, or any tags, this fall the reduced harvest will probably mean better hunting next year.
