For me the most beautiful duck is either a Drake Pintail or a Drake Cinnamon Teal.

    Moose Ribs

On elk & moose, I prefer to keep the ribs. They are really good on the BarB!

Sad story but a hell of a way to go.

Similar story here in SW Colorado. An Oklahoma elk hunter in his 80's has disappeared and has not been found. He went missing in early October and still has not been found. A massive search has located no trace of him. It is pretty rugged country and he got separated from his partners.

Back in the 50"s my Dad took me to several outdoor shows where Fred Bear put on a program. I remember thinking "that guy has some huge cajones". I also remember that he said he always had a guide backing him up with a rifle. I remember he said that he took a seal skin and wrapped up in it and...

Eastman's Click Bait- National Elk Refuge To Starve Elk

Sorry....I don't see anything wrong with the story. Seems to me everything Mike said is true, especially about the environmental & anti-hunting groups. If the feeding is stopped, there is no doubt in my mind that there will be "many elk starve to death". I'm not afraid to say it.

    The Day we Dred

It's tough to lose a member of the family and dogs are that for sure. I had a Lab named Molly that was a wonderful hunter and companion for 13 1/2 years. It took me several years before I got another Lab pup. She is great too, but Molly was exceptional and I still miss her.

    GETTIN OLD.......

You are correct, BUT if I hadn't been good enough to get a college scholarship to play football, I probably would not have earned a college degree. It is truly a double edged sword.

    First Snow of the Season

I put the hex on you.....our snow has almost all melted, but is pretty cold, down to 10 or so tonight.

    First Snow of the Season

There is quite a bit of snow(probably 6" or so) and it is staying cold so most of it will still be there. The eastern part of the unit near Telluride is higher elevation than the western part. I usually hunt the western side for deer and the eastern side for elk. I don't think there is enough...

    GETTIN OLD.......

UPDATE The first PT stint didn't seem to help. My Surgeon ordered a CT scan with contrast (injection of dye into the joint/muscle). It showed more extensive damage than expected. The rotator cuff was damaged more than he thought. If another surgery is done, he will do a reverse replacement. The...

Let?s some pictures of anything idaho

Many years ago when we were closing out the Space Shuttle work in So Cal and moving to Florida, I was recruited by EG &G who was the contractor running INEL (Idaho National Energy Laboratory) near Idaho Falls. I took a trip up there and really liked what I saw. They offered me an engineering...
