    Antelope numbers and tags issued?

Buy extra doe tags, pretty cheap in Wyoming. I usually shot a couple of them to go along with the buck tag. Colorado is pretty tough to hunt antelope in. The tags that are the easiest to draw are mostly private and the goodunit with lots of public land usually take quite a few points.

    Antelope numbers and tags issued?

This year in our favorite unit, 3 of us applied for type 6 tags. We drew buck tags last year (and type 6 also), so no points this year. Didn't draw for the first time in quite a few years. I checked the stats after the draw and Wyoming did not issue any NR type 6 tags. Last year we saw lots of...

    Backcountry Questions

Depending on the area you hunt, another thing to be aware of is flies, especially when its warmer or areas where there is livestock. I've had a problem a couple of times with maggots from the fly eggs. If you see flies on your meet, really look it over. In areas that have blood, inside the gut...

    Backcountry Questions

RICMIC is spot on about hunting with partners. When I was young, I could pick up a deer and pack it out easily....not anymore. If I am hunting alone, a mile is my limit to hunt away from transportation. (Generally much less, depending on the country). When I first started hunting Wyoming in...

    Antelope numbers and tags issued?

The antelope in the picture was shot in Wyoming in 1985. I didn't have it mounted, just the horns on a plaque. The taxi told me I should mount it, as it might be awhile before I shot another that big. Well 10 years later I took the horns with me on an antelope hunt in the same area. I took the...

    Preparing for a Western Hunt

I've hunted Wyoming since 1980. October is always a crap shoot. I've seen it be 80 at noon and it would cloud up, temps drop, wind, snow and be down to 5 degrees the same night. Back up to 70 a couple of days later. Best advice is be prepared for anything. If it really gets cold, you can put...

Storm just starting here. Windy, temp dropping and starting to rain. Supposed to turn to snow later this evening. Getting ready to stoke up the pellet stove.

    Your Oldest Animal

I shot a Canada Goose that was pretty old . We have a pretty good population of non migratory Canadians here. There were none in the 80's. In the early 90's DOW trapped some near Pueblo and relocated them to here and they never really left. We now have thousands that provide some decent...

October 2020 Oregon Blacktail, Black Bear, and Roosevelt - Open Invite

I'm not starting problems here, but why not share with us here on this forum. You advertise for someone to share your hunt, but won't share the experience. Just doesn't seem right to me.

    2020 Drought Deer Antler Growth

Down here in the SW part of Colorado, we are have i pretty bad drought. The deer around my area, which is all private & lots of agriculture, the antler growth on the deer seems normal to me. The NF and BLM I can't really say, but most of the bucks I've seen seem normal to me. Whether you should...

    Mo money

I have a Leupold B & C spotter and my swaro bino/rf combo. I usually don't carry my spotter when I'm hunting, by it is in the truck or my sxs.

    Demographics of Eastmans Hunting Forum

My experience is pretty much the same. I usually won't shoot a boar at all or a sow over 150#. I shot quite a few and only one was really not fit to eat (a big boar around #300)
