I put a Leupold Freedom on my .22 and am totally satisfied with it. It is a reasonably priced scope with good optics, but I certainly would upgrade to the III's for a hunting rifle.

No more guns for me at this point in my life....BUT, I always am ready to jump on something. Now ammo is another thing, I am on the lookout for what is available and at a reasonable price. Don't get a dog if you can't feed it.

Weather is always a factor also. Warm weather during early hunts, cold & snow during later hunts, or either at any time can change everything.

Remember to bring plenty of help....even a cow will provide you with several hundred pounds of meat. The "antlers" don't weigh anything though.
