A cheap lion and wolf tag option on every non-resident tag and resident tag would be a nice option. at $10-25 a tag, every non-resident would buy it just about, just in case they had a chance at a wolf or lion. at $250, every non-resident isn't going to be adding that option as a "just in case...

I'm 41 and feeling that way! It hasn't been the perfect year for me to go west to hunt, elk, etc... for the past decade, but another year goes by, then it's 5-10 years, without going etc... so I'm trying to actually draw an archery elk tag this year...

I would be curious to see what the average age is vs. # of points is.... ? per animal.

I use to think after I draw a tag.... I'd reapply for that tag again.... and this doesn't really apply for sheep, goat, moose, but, elk deer, antelope in many western states, I apply for almost all of them, I think after I draw a good tag in a state for say deer, I don't think I'm going to get...

might be time to draw Cow/Ewe tags....? I wonder if WY will have to go to a squaring/cubing of points instead of a PP and random tag situation, which may hurt everyone...

I sometimes wonder.... if when WY figures out how much $$$ they're leaving on the table.... ie. if they just charged the non-res tag fee for all the tags, and put everyone in 1 pool, what residents would think of that? If 10% of non-res tags generates 100% of resident tags... 20% would...

Say for Moose/sheep....if they only issue 1 Non-res tag, will that go to max points or random?

do you buy 1 state for the year? or all states for the year? I'd probably get it if I draw a tag for the fall...but haven't used it yet....

Anyone have a link or know where to find recent wildfires? mostly recent past 1-3 years would be nice. Particularly interested in New Mexico... but all states would be nice. I found 1 map but it showed like the past 20 years and basically the entire unit was covered. Thanks.

Gout flareup has me sidelined... anyone out there deal with gout ever? I'm pretty healthy, especially last few years, eating pretty well, don't really drink, exercise etc... sounds like I may have "pseudo gout" so not really know what my triggers are... This kinda ruined my AZ Antelope hunt 7...

may be late to this thread....but my heavy long range elk set up is a .340wby, has a 26" barrel, but if I were going custom or could pick everything I wanted, I'd have a 24" barrel, 225ttsx@3100 I also have a 300win.mag., but my current intent is to one day get a .300wsm and probably shoot...

I assume that one range finds and adjusts your pin?? I believe I saw a sight or bolt on range finder.... which I like the idea of.... to use a separate range finder in many situations then to stuff in your pocket etc... out of the way, then draw....and get on the animal.... is a lot sometimes...

You like those? I've always shot 180gr in my .300wm but that's from a decade or 2 ago.... was recently thinking a165 tsx or similar might be pretty nice option.... over the 180...

Just is the version I wish they made....although not sure they really ever will, I'm not sure how much more powder it'll hold than the 280AI but is should definitely be more...

I believe the wby and tikka will be a long action chambering your short action cartridge the 308.... I'd probably lean towards the browning if it's built on a short action... or at least 1 factor to add to the decision. I have a wby with a .243win built on a long action and it just bugs me...

Deep in the draws/research. aside from the long shots, trying to get my dad a Mountain goat tag... strongly considering a NM archery elk hunt....

Not sure of all the details.... if they're talking all game tags/animals.... but if it goes to 10% for moose etc.... I know many of these random tags will disappear... whereas there is 1 random tag now, I would think that would become 0.

Nothing wrong with the 6.5... if talking weatherby's I'd probably rather have a 300wby, 340wby, or maybe even the 257wby (just becuse it's so popular especially amongst the wby line...)

a buddy of mine just moved to OR..., Curious if DIY public land for Roosevelt's in OR or WA, is possible? does CA have Roosevelt? I think I read the OR Roosevelt are OTC and a ton of pressure? wondering if maybe there's a limited semi easy draw for Roosevelt? feel free to PM me.
