    GETTIN OLD.......

UPDATE The first PT stint didn't seem to help. My Surgeon ordered a CT scan with contrast (injection of dye into the joint/muscle). It showed more extensive damage than expected. The rotator cuff was damaged more than he thought. If another surgery is done, he will do a reverse replacement. The...

Let?s some pictures of anything idaho

Many years ago when we were closing out the Space Shuttle work in So Cal and moving to Florida, I was recruited by EG &G who was the contractor running INEL (Idaho National Energy Laboratory) near Idaho Falls. I took a trip up there and really liked what I saw. They offered me an engineering...

    Antelope success thread

We hunted the same unit last year that we hunted this year. 3 of us had 2 doe tags each. So the answer is yes. I really like to hunt the same unit I want to draw a buck tag in, as this provides a great opportunity to scout the area while you are hunting does.

    2019 OTC 2nd rifle elk

My wife and I were up in the La Platas north of Mancos last weekend. Went up to Transfer Campground, over to Windy Gap, Gold Run/Bear Creek and home via Haycamp. There was about 2 to 3" of snow at Transfer, Windy Gap & Gold Run. Saw very few hunters and camps. Usually fairly crowded. I was up...

    Jack O'Conner/Outdoor Life magazine

I divide his books into 2 groups: hunting/shooting and guns. If you Google Jack O'Conner you can find a complete list of his books. When I was growing up, my Dad discovered I had an eye problem, Ambliopia or Lazy Eye. I am naturally right handed and my right eye was effected. I was taught to...

    Jack O'Conner/Outdoor Life magazine

Keith was a big caliber pistol guy. If I remember right, he either helped or was responsible for the development of the .44 mag. Always wore a big Stetson and smoked cigars. He was a real character, a lot different than the more conservative O'Conner.

    Jack O'Conner/Outdoor Life magazine

I have a lot of Elmer Keith's stuff too, but it is all guns, reloading & shooting....no hunting. Jack O'Conner and Elmer Keith were both advocates for their style of shooting, very different from each other. Keith was a "bigger is better" shooter, O'Conner was Mr. .270. They were competitors...

    Jack O'Conner/Outdoor Life magazine

I know a lot of you are way too young to have grown up reading Jack O'Conner's columns in Outdoor Life magazine. I first read one of his stories while sitting in a barber shop in the early 50's and I was hooked. My mother gave me a subscription and I couldn't wait for it to arrive in the mail...
