    There are several things that you have to be aware of that were not mentioned in the article. One is freebore, the distance from the end of the chamber to the rifling. Some gun manufacturers like Weatherby use a lot of freebore. This can effect bullet accuracy no matter what CBTO you use...

    I know the road he is referring to and above the campgrounds it is a sxs, quad or motorcycle road only. I used to run it in my small Toyota PU and in places it was too big.

    It is really a collectors piece. Value (depending on condition) is from $1,500 to $2,000 for a basic model. My suggestion would be to keep it as a family heirloom and don't shoot it much. Just sayin.................

    Both pictures were taken in 1954 on a backcountry horseback packin deer hunting trip. I was 13. My Dad took me out of school and we went on my first real hunting adventure. He gave me a great foundation to build on.

    When this thread I started came back up, I realized I hadn't posted picts from our trip. My wife Joyce pointing to her #50 Halibut and our Razor Clams. Great time....lots of great eating too. We brought home #50 pounds of halibut and razor clams.The King Salmon was about #40.

    One of my Dad's friends was a professional photographer and took it. I have a few that he took. Here is another. My Dad took me out of school for a weeks hunting trip. First horseback, pack into backcountry I took. My avatar is another one. Notice no camo...LOL!

    September 1....Gun Hunting Season Here!

    September 1 always kicked off my families hunting season. Dad & I started with Doves, next was Deer hunting in the High Sierras, Antelope in Wyoming, Elk in Colorado and Ducks & Geese until the end of January. Last hunted with Dad in 2008 when he was 90 and he got his elk here in Colorado. miss...
