    Favorite mule deer bullet?

Like JimP...one bullet, one load. Been shooting that way since I started reloading over 60 years ago.

    Favorite mule deer bullet?

For over 50 years I have used Sierra Game Kings in my 25-06 and my .257 Wby (117 gr BT Game Kings) for deer and antelope. In my 30-06 I also use Sierra Game Kings (150 gr BT).

    When purchasing a license

I wonder how they track a convicted poacher who has been banned from hunting in the "compact" states.

    6.5 To kill an elk?

Do the comparison with the .300 Wby and 180 gr bullets. Much better ballistics than a 30-06 with 178gr bullets. Here is the deal.....dead is dead no matter what it is shot with. My handloads (mv 3250) with 180 noslers kills them dead out to 500 yards (that's as far as I will shoot) holding dead...

    When purchasing a license

First I've heard of that. No SS# required here in Colorado. You do have to show a driver's license or provide it's number if buying on line.

    Social media affects

I totally agree with Hilltop 100%. I have passed on information, sometimes very specific information to members I trust via PM. There are some circumstances that justify it IMO. When it takes a massive amount of points to draw a unit and I drew it, knowing that at my age (78), I will never be...

    Moon phase and mule deer

My experience is that mule deer are nocturnal most of the year, winter excepted. I have probably 100 to 150 mulies around my place and except for when there's snow on the ground, they feed early evening, all night and early morning. Weather plays a big role too. Wind, rain and snow will change...

    Wyoming unit 115

I've hunted it several times, but always on private prop. Not the numbers of animals as other units, but I've seen some good bucks. The roads , as mentioned, can be a bitch.

    Sage grouse help

Many years ago we used to shoot them in California near Mammoth in the High Sierras. I don't really remember, but seems like the meat was dark. I do remember that they were not really great eating, kinda tough and sagey flavored. It was about 60 years ago, so my memory might be a little...

What would be your dream hunt?

My Dad knew Roy and I used to go with him to their original shop in South Gate, Ca. When I started building custom pistol grips, I used to get a lot of "cutoff" wood from them to make the grips. I dated Ed's sister Diane a few times too. Nice gal, but just not my type!
