    Local Shooting Range Situation

The land was (and basically IS) not improved. No water or power. Had to do all the "improvements" (grading, berms, gravel, concrete, fencing) ourselves. Most state owned land here in Colorado is not "improved".

The Executive Committee (I am a member) is considering how we can deal with the situation. Luckily we have several years before a new lease will be in effect.

    Local Shooting Range Situation

All the state land leases funds the Best Program, which is a state funded school improvement program. The state legislature wants more money for schools, so this is an area to get it. Also found out our "recreational" lease is low priority and if someone else wants the land, we could be in a...

Best Way to Sharpen a Knife

I use a couple of different things for keeping an edge on my knives. To start the process, I use a traditional whetstone with cutting oil. The oil keeps the stone from filling up with the residue I take off the knife. Once the knife has the edge I want, I use a Smith's edge "refresher". It...

The 1 Thing You Learned- Rifles

The reason I used that action is because it fit that stock. I made the stock many years ago with an 03 Springfield action. I sold the action and because the buyer was right handed, I kept the stock. Decided one day to make another rifle for the stock as it is really beautiful grained & figured...

    Miroku Scope ?

Don't know anything about them. The one thing in optics than I DO know about is YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Cheaper price almost always means less quality. That has been a proven fact with optics for over 50 years.

    Trip to Anchorage help

Not sure about that that, BUT we took a bunch of extra stuff and instead of bringing it home as excess baggage, we shipped it home via UPS. We took frozen fish home as our #50 per person allotment for checked in baggage on Alaska Air.

The 1 Thing You Learned- Rifles

Thank you, I do love it. It is totally custom. It has a 03 Springfield action, Shilen match SS barrel, Timney Trigger & Leupold VXIII 6x20 on top. I made the thumbhole stock. It is unreal on Prairie Dogs.

I started out with a foldable wire crate with bedding in it. Your right about them considering it their home.
