I just finished roasting, peeling and chopping my chili for tomorrows green chili stew. I used fresh Anaheim and Pablanos. ( 4 each). Diced up my venison also. Going to put it all in the crock pot in the morning. Having cornbread with it for tomorrows dinner. I ate some of the roasted chilis...

    Mountain Bike Trail Building

I have several friends who belong to a group of mountain bike clubs who build trails for mountain bikes on public land (both BLM & NFS) in Arizona, Utah and Colorado. They use power equipment and do lots of earth & rock moving. My question is do they need permits or other permission to do this...

    Reboring a barrel?

I was waiting until there was a little more information. There are several ways to do it. A GOOD smith can rebore it, but not everyone does that as reboring is a lot more labor.. Have you priced that vs a new barrel? No matter what method you choose, the smith needs a chamber reamer. If I were...

    Any gardeners on here?

That's what we do. We have a 20 x 35 deck with lots of pots. We grow tomatoes, chili peppers and cucumbers and whatever my wife decides to grow for herbs. Lots of flowers too.

    Dillon presses?

Jim is correct. You really have to shoot a lot to justify the cost. I have some friends that travel year round to shoots all over the country and have several Dillons setup for each caliber they shoot. The whole family shoots, so they need the ability to load a lot in a short time. I don't...

    Corner Crossing

I listened to over 3 hours of Randy Newberg's podcast and I don't think I learned much. the attorneys spent all that time on background and really didn't give much in the way of opinion. I think this goes all the way to the US Supreme Court to get settled if the people involved have the money...

    DIY Checkering?

My Dad was an avid trapshooter (so was I). I restocked his Winchester M12 with a beautiful piece of presentation grade walnut and checkered it. Made it about 40 years ago.

    DIY Checkering?

I had a guy who did laser engraving do some faux checkering on the forend of my lever 73. A little hard to see, but very functional and is easy to grip.....no slipping of my hand. Reasonable too. I think it cost me $125.00.

    DIY Checkering?

Checkering is like any precision, detail work, you need lots of practice. I used to make stocks and did checkering. ( made about 200 stocks) You need a good set of tools. The wood you do must be pretty hard, like a good dense walnut. Cheap low density wood generally does not checker well. You...

    Fuel prices affect

Being 80 years old means that every year I don't hunt is one less for me. I am not going to worry about fuel costs for my recreation (off roading, boating, camping, hunting & fishing). I worked for 4o years to enjoy my retirement.

WGFD license proposals 2022, big cuts to Antelope.

Like I mentioned in my post, I started seeing lower numbers 5 years ago and they only quit offering doe/fawn tags 2 years ago. A little too late. I won't be applying for doe/fawn tags at all this year in Wyoming, just hunting here in Colorado this year.
