I have 3 big game calibers 25-06, 30-06 & .300 Wby. I hand load for everything, Havn't shot factory loads since the 1950"s.
My .25 is for antelope, hogs and deer. My .300 Wby is for elk and anything larger. My 30-06 is my backup. All shoot less than moa groups.
Don't know what I would use...
I am probably going to replace the sonar fish finder. It has a Humminbird Wide Field. The problem is that it is really hard to read the screen when the sun shines on it. I also would like a color screen and as simple as possible operation. Small size and less than $500.
Any recommendations?
Finally got my new boat in the water for a shake down yesterday. After I got it out of my storage cover, I had to de-winterize it. I checked all the engine and outdrive vitals. Charged the battery and checked all the safety equipment. I also moved and rewired the sonar fishfinder.

I have hunted it many years ago and OOBUCK is spot on. The only concern I would have is winter kill. Some of the units close to 65 had a bunch and populations could be lower than normal.
Good luck.
Yep. All of the units I applied for (except for 1) had 4 or less tags. One of the elk units that I have hunted several times always has left over tags. It is a migratory unit and needs some snow to push the animals into the area.
I am on Facebook. Except for the stupid ads, I keep in touch with a lot of friends, relatives and former classmates and people I worked with.
There are a few shooting webpages I look at and comment on, but that's it.
I spent a lot of time in Fl in the 70's working on the Shuttle program. Lots of gators and turkeys and a few hogs , but working 7 days a week leaves little time for much else. When I did have a day off here and there, I went fishing and diving.
The last picture was when I was 12 years old in 1953. My Dad and his friends used to to a backcountry deer hunt in California every year. A pack station packed all our gear on mules and we rode horses to our camp about 15 miles in the backcountry. We stayed for a week. My Dad let me go and get...
To all the Fathers out there....Happy Fathers Day to you all. I remember my Dad as the example in my life of what life and Fathers are all about. He was the rock of our family and the example for myself and my sisters to look up to. Dad passed in 2012 and is missed, but still in my life.

For me it is less than 400 yards, unless conditions are perfect. The longest shot I have ever tried was about 500 yards (pre range finder days) and it was unsuccessful due to winds across a canyon. The longest kill shot was 450 on an antelope.
Everyone should know their own limitations and their equipment limitations. That isn't to say all hunters will stay within these limitations. I also believe that some of the TV hunting programs have done hunting and hunters a disfavor by showing the shooting of animals at extreme ranges. They...
