Chukars in a cream sauce made with butter and flour and mushrooms and onions. I simmered the legs and thighs for about an hour in a saucepan with salt, pepper and garlic. It made them as tender as the breast pieces that were dusted in flour with garlic salt and pepper. We served it over rice...

    Chasing Chukars

My son and I went out and did some Chukar hunting last weekend. We saw a lot of birds and managed to kill a few. The country is awful dry and the birds were usually within mile or so from guzzlers and a spring we know of.

Sage brush buck and a late night visiter.

Maybe that buck thought the sagebrush would make his antlers look bigger to the doe. ;)

    Rethinking my loads/calibers for deer.

Why not just use the 300 with 180 grain bullets for deer? The difference in drop between the 150 and the 180 out to 500 yards is amazingly small. I'm sure you've already got a very accurate load for your 180's and that is what many hunters use for deer and it works just fine.

Funny you mention the seeds. I've been telling my wife I thought watermelons with seeds were sweeter. This one was very sweet. First time I've seen them in years. I asked the "chili guy" in AZ who also had watermelons last year if he had any with seeds. He said almost nobody is growing them...
