Even 300 yards is too far with a muzzle loader. While these long range muzzle loaders may "technically" be muzzle loaders they should not be legal during muzzle loader season. More states should keep the seasons as "primitive weapon" season. Loose powder, round or conical ball and no scopes...

I've always had good luck with BFG tires whether in mud-terrain or all-terrain. They are a very tough tire but they are pricey. My brother uses Cooper Discoverer tires on his truck and has great results and they are not nearly as expensive as BFG tires.

Hmmm...That Kurt Darner had a habit of taking monster mule deer for years, until he got caught. Google Randy Ulmer and you see pic after pic of giant mule deer bucks going back years. Seems to be one lucky dude.

Awesome! I hope you have better luck than me, I've only gone hunting one time specifically for sage grouse and we never saw any. We were hunting north of Tonopah which I know is. not the best area. The only time we ever got any was if we ran into some while the season was open while deer hunting...

I think a .380 would just make a bear angry given the paltry energy of 200-300 ft. lbs. depending on the load. Also how accurate would you be while crapping your pants and trying to aim at the bear when it's charging? Bear spray would be more practical.
