    WI Approved Wolf Hunt

Will the same traps hold a wolf?

    WI Approved Wolf Hunt

Harvested more than double the quota before they could close it in zones 2 and 6. Do you think that the high hunter success is a result of high populations or a result of wolves not being conditioned to hunting- lack of fear of people?

    WI Approved Wolf Hunt

300 wolves in the state? They estimate 250+ packs of wolves in the state. "The estimated number of packs, which are primarily found in the northern part of the state, rose from 243 to 256." wiscnews.com The reality is biologists really don't know how many wolves there are. If they are...

    WI Approved Wolf Hunt

85 wolves out of an estimated 250+ packs in the state... Wonder why the quota was so low?

    The Memes Thread!

You do realize that under the 10th amendment individual state governors have the authority, and responsibility, to take public health emergency actions. Many democrats want to blame Trump but the reality is Covid-19 was mishandled by literally almost every state's governor. One of the only...

If it would have been a Democrat they would have celebrated him leaving the state to save electricity.

    2022 ELK Hunt Recommendations

Might be worth checking out this hunt - https://elkmountain.com/english/big_game.html I believe you would be able to draw with one point. I have never hunted with them- just grew up in the area and was aware of the operation... and the big elk they brought in. Might be able to negotiate group...

    2022 ELK Hunt Recommendations

Any preference points in any states? To stay in your budget, I would consider splitting up between cow and bull tags. For instance, a 7K bull hunt can usually add a cow hunt for 2k or less, fully guided. If you were booking 2 bull and 2 cow hunts at the same time, you could likely get a break...

    Moose Tenderloin Roulade

Looks awesome! We do the same with cream cheese and jalapeno or if we are wanting to eat a little healthier we use greek yogurt and poblano. To simplify, mix greek yogurt and green cholula with a little garlic powder. Sounds a little weird but it tastes amazing and adds basically zero bad...

    House Bill 295

I understand your position but I think the only sustainable approach for hunters is to remain 100% fair chase unless management dictates its necessity. I think baiting has it's place as a management tool- especially in places where it's necessary to harvest over populations of whitetail...

    Story to Think About

In the instant gratification world we live in, those traps are pretty easy to set.

    House Bill 295

I'm against baiting. I have used trail cameras in the past and I really think the only advantage I have gained is by knowing what bucks or bulls are around certain areas. If anything, that knowledge has lead to me, and some of my friends, to pass on lesser animals that we may have shot if we...

2021 new gear dreams and must haves.

I finally broke down and ordered a new Eberlestock pack. My cheap, 10 year old, pack took a beating this past season hauling meat. Affordable ammo and reloading supplies would be a dream lol. I think we get there by mid summer.

    2021 Fishing

Nice cobia! The guys I used to fish with called them kingfish. Didn't catch many in the Northern Gulf but we loved it when we did. Great eating fish.

    Wyoming Moose

I have yet to have a bad one but one old cow a buddy shot was pretty tough. Her burger was amazing though. I like elk steak a little better but moose burger has the edge over elk burger for me.

    gun regs yay or nay???

I don't want to see any added restrictions and I believe many that are in place are wrong. I do have an issue with the way #24 was worded. I think many will answer yes to the questions but keep in mind that would be adding restrictions in places like Wyoming where no permit is required.

Anyone buy a new bow this year?

I have strongly considered a new one over the past year. I really like some of the new Hoyt models but they are more than I want to spend. I'll probably stick with my 13 year old bow that still seems to get the job done if I do my part.

Sheep Hunting With Bow or Rifle?

I think it would depend on the area. I have been within archery range of legal rams many times while hunting other species in southern Wyoming. That is fairly easy terrain so a guy could make multiple stalks a day if you can find the rams. If I drew a tag there, I would try very hard with the...
