2019 Spartan Ohio Beast is in the books. 13 miles, 30 obstacles and the muddiest course to date, miles of knee-deep mud, muck, swamps & just plain greasy slop. Actually had to empty my shoes of sand, gravel and mud several times and my compression socks are garbage. Loved every minute of it too...

Just did a test run of my local 5k coming up on Sunday. An entire year’s worth of hard work paid huge dividends. Course is painted, ends up 3.06 miles & I couldnt be happier right now!!! Crazy headwind for the first half. Gotta repeat or beat this performance Sunday morning!!!

Gritty, non-stop trail run this morning....450’ of gain in the first 2 miles, 430’ in the last 2.75, 1649 total gain. Usually take a few breathers on these woods runs as there is some steep rugged stuff, but kept moving the entire time today. Good to know what you’re capable of, wont lie though...

Tuesday - chest and back. This morning I set out to begin acclimating to my next race distance, wish I had realized I stoped just 1 tenth short of a half-marathon. Still gives me a good idea of where I stand among distance runners, which is definitely not my bag haha.

PR 5 mile run this morning, topped the old one by 1:29, and it was only about 38 degrees. Did about 30 mins single-tracking on the dirt bike early afternoon. (More work than you might think.) Also made my first goal of cutting to 158lbs today.
