Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

Ha that feels about right. Just trying to keep odds from getting any worse at this point :) slightly better odds is better than worse I guess. That's why I don't bank on just those tags. I keep a pretty diverse portfolio of options each year :)

I'm kind of right in the pp total area for moose (19) that it's hard to know what is better 50/50 split or straight up point draw if they go 90/10. In UT I have 20 points for Desert Bighorn but since there's only one NR tag in most units they all go to random, which makes my points basically...

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

Thanks CC, I figured if possible I'd hang in and use my investment in WY points. I can always go to AK and I do, but kind of hate to give up on Shiras in WY. I'm kind of stubborn that way :). I've never went guided and probably won't if it is an option. Time may change my mind though, who knows :).

    string mowers

We use a combination of herbicides and trimmers. They both get used on our places. The push trimmers are super handy and are the best option on our public ground bee yards

Good luck when you go. I dropped my points at about 10 because I had to choose moose or sheep due to too much cash for both points. I always wondered if I'd regret it, but it may have actually been a good choice looking back now. Still a little bummed to take away the potential opportunity :)...

    string mowers

I use one on both our properties. I think they are pretty handy. I have a Craftsman and a Toro, both work well. They won't cut tough brush, but work well on Knap weed, thistle ect. The strings are much quicker to change than a hand held. We also use them to maintain around the bee yards in the...

    Sheep judging tips and tactics

I'd say he'll score pretty dang good. He carries his mass way out and has a big drop and flare shape which probably means he has a lot more length than it first appears. I'd be happy with that ram for sure :).

    Oregon Trying to Ban Hunting

We are and Oregon Hunters Association is making sure to stay on top of this. Ballot measures (even ridiculous overreaching ones like this one) are always a little scary in OR due to the population dynamics (a couple cities out number the rest of the state).

    Living A Dream (again)!

I didn't really measure it to closely so this is just a rough measurement, but we came up with 8.5 ft. actually I think 8'4". There again that's just a quick measurement we took while skinning the feet out. It looked big enough to me :) :)

    Living A Dream (again)!

I took some time off work during the Spring Bear season and my wife and I were able to get a nice little bear here in OR. After processing it and getting it in the freezer, it was time to head to AK. I love AK and have had a lot of great hunting adventures there. But as an OR resident, AK law...

    Living A Dream (again)!

I was able to make it up to AK and spend some great time with friends and family again this spring! I am so thankful for the opportunities I've had to experience hunts, that I thought would always just be dreams! 2021 Spring Grizzly

Where would you move to if you had your choice of any western State to live in?

I just returned from another spring bear hunt and each time I come back thinking I wish I would have spent at least a few years wondering around the great state of AK.

Where would you move to if you had your choice of any western State to live in?

Both Wyoming and Montana seem like great places to live from a resident hunter standpoint. Sounds fun, good luck!
