    50's Gun Shop/Sporting Goods Store

When I was in high school and living in Ely, Minnesota, my older brother bought a Ruger MK 1 .22 at the local Coast to Coast hardware store for $44. He later sold it to me for $50 and thought he had made the deal of the century. I sold it 20 years later for $125 and thought the same. I am...

    Who’s gonna win?

I don't care either, and wasn't even aware that it was last night. Big, big, big money ruined the game. I still like high school and some college FB. (Football not facebook).

WY Region H or unit 78

The distance wasn't too far, but we had a vertical gain of over 2,500 ft. that included climbing a cliff. It took us about 6 1/2 hours to get to our campsite, and we were completely bushed by the time we got there. My best buck came after I spiked out from camp an additional 1,300 ft. higher...

WY Region H or unit 78

I have hunted H five times since 2009, the first two hunts were guided in a wilderness area, and the last 3 I backpacked into some very rugged country. During that time, I have experienced a reduction in mature bucks, an increase in backcountry hunters, and a big inflation in NR points required...

Eastmans' Hunting Journal - Annual Mule Deer issue

I agree with CC; listing the state or province is basic information. After thinking WOW!! the next thing I noticed was the lack of the state. Let them be published elsewhere, but Eastman's disappoints me as far as this issue goes.

The guy who won the 1.2 billion lottery has to spend it on something other than strip clubs and alimony. For a good cause in the end.

    Anyone bake pies?

You mitigate the tartness by adding sugar, but it is a fine line before it is too sweet. Ice cream makes a tart pie perfect, but my mother made a strawberry rhubarb pie that covered all the bases. You have to do something with rhubarb as it's one of the first things to start growing in the far...

    January cow elk

I made my wife's favorite...Philly Cheese-steak sandwiches out of one of the tenderloins last night. They were excellent, but were still a bit chewy for TLs. I picked up 60 lbs. of sausage from the local processer, and will likely convert what whole meat I have into burger or sausage at some...

    January cow elk

We had our first steak from the cow, and that old gal was the toughest piece of wild game that we have ever chewed on. It still tasted good. That was a piece out of the rump and we just fried it up to medium rare, so I hope that the backstraps are better. We'll just make sure to marinade...

    New Ranger

IKC When viewing the latest pics that you posted I marveled at the increased ground clearance as well as the extra space the front tires have from the wheel well. I had some real gumbo clogging issues with my stock Ranger when antelope hunting in WY, and occasionally had to winch out of some...

    January cow elk

I had the same reaction to my first cow elk kill also CC. This cow was "dry", and had a big body, so I am suspecting that she was an old-timer. As such, most of it became hamburger and sausage. But, I have never had a poor eating elk, even a rutty old 6x6.
