Just wanted to remind everyone NV's draw will be posted in less than 24 hours. I know, I know, but there's no need to thank me for reminding you. It's just hunters helping hunters.
Why am I not surprised? Yet again special interest groups line the pocket of a legislator to abandon the public trust. This time it's Maine's Troy Jackson.

Want to know...
Just got my latest issue of HF and I see Maine & Hew Hampshire moose made their debuts as anticipated. But for anyone who thinks their draw odds are accurate, think again. When I drew NH in 2012 I calculated my odds at ~1%, and that was figured taking into account my 8 points. Now HF posts it's...
I think it's about the time I got the most cash shipped out. Anyone else figure what will be refunded earliest pending no luck? WY bison, CO sheep, NM elk, CO elk/deer/lope..........? I think over $6K out this year.
The gift that keeps on giving.
Maybe due to my age of 53, but this crap will just not go away. This is my 7th month of pain. My workout regiment has ground to a halt for the first time since my teens. I can't do a dam thing. Had this a few times years ago but heel inserts got rid of it...
My buddy and I are one point below max for AZ deer and seriously considering burning points this year, as we have drawn only one other tag for a Sept elk hunt. Dates seem a little later than typical? Curious to get some thoughts. We are thinking of maybe 12B. Anyone been on any of the 12...
Wyoming elk results are posted. We drew unit 38 archery bull tags.
Feels funny to draw a tag in the 1st lottery of the year. Not used to that. Last year I got like 30 USUCS before pulling a rabbit out of my hat in New Hamsphire!
Good luck!
Curious if anyone here has bowhunted elk in unit 38. Been searching through archives and seen some good comments, then a few that say they ran into a lot of other hunters. One in our party is one point below max, so this looks to be one of our few options if we want to draw this year.
Here's a better view of the rack. I was incredibly lucky. Paddles are about as good as NH gets. Real nice tines and mass too.
The first idiot I paid to extract the moose tried to drag it out 1/4 mile with a chain saw winch and 400' of rope. He trashed much of the cape and then almost...
This is how we ended up getting bull out. Same logger that told me where to hunt, had to come out and use his skidder to haul him out. Was near midnight when we finished.
Attached are photos of my New Hampshire bull moose taken October 27th near town of Berlin.
Bull has 20 points, weighed 780#, with a rack width of 53 1/4". This moose will score in the top 5% size wise in the state of New Hampshire for 2012. Only one bull wider than 53 1/4" was taken in my...
Anybody else be hunting Iowa for deer this year? No western tags for me, so good thing I burned my points for a nonresident zone 5 archery tag. Scouted public land 4 days in February and got my spots lined up and GPSed. The 6"-10" rubs in my area look more like they were made by elk.
gene so, Ya I think these sheep would qualify as more used to people than most areas. They behave like mosquitos. I am told this is due to backpackers feeding them salty treats. However, the legal rams are not so aggressive.
I have been following the thread hoping to see some elk & deer...
Anyone else here ever hunted New Hampshire for moose? I am curious what to expect. Never hunted the northeast before. They gave out very few tags this year due to tick predation.
Attention both Utah residents and nonresidents:
If you are against giving away your public land big game tags to a private organization (SFW) who peddles them off but refuses to disclose how 2.5 million $ of the proceeds are spent……………………please sign the petition at the link below ASAP. Utah’s...
Anyone else here apply for moose in New Hampshire? Results posted today.
I beat the 1% draw odds and snagged a zone C2(ES) tag. Pretty bad to still have only 1% odds after applying for 14 years! ;)
OK so I have done a ton of scouting and have saved lots of GPS coordinates for this fall's hunting season. Now I'm scared to death I'll drop and lose my GPS and get screwed. The coordinates are worth more than the GPS! Anyone know of a website or somewhere I can store these in case I lose my...
Well today was the last day to apply in Nevada. I have been stacking points for years and would now like to cash some in, so I picked a lot of units where I hope to have a realistic chance, at least for Lope & deer. I have 13 points for most critters.
I am hoping the draw odd on MM are...
