    Judge Stops Grizzly Hunt!

After delaying the proposed grizzly hunt twice, the federal judge has now decided to return the species to to the endangered species list...thereby ending the possibility of a hunt this year. Apparently, the judge thinks he knows more about grizzly bears than the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service...

I have a 2017 Polaris RZR. I like it because its narrow but can still carry a fair amount of weight. I have had a half elk and a whole wife on it (considered a whole elk and half a wife but decided against it). But as nv-hunter pointed out, the air intakes are in a horrible location right...

    The Three Bears!

There is a spring and fall season. These were all taken in the spring. I have hunted in the fall, but found too much commotion from elk hunters. I even had one of my trail cameras stolen in the fall, probably by an elk hunter. Yes you can bait in Wyoming...and these were all taken over bait...

    The Three Bears!

No it's not a fairy tale, I got one each of the last three years in a row...all DIY on public land in SE Wyoming. Bears are an iconic symbol of the wild. Put bears and public lands together, and I get goosebumps.

Wyoming Republican Who Supports Public Lands

Wonders never cease! There is a Republic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives who supports public lands. He is running against Liz Cheney. He has experience as natural resource adviser for Gov. Herschler and Gov. Sullivan. Admittedly, his appearance is a bit unconventional. What...

    Wyoming non-resident moose

When we were there in August, it was quite cool. One morning, there was a heavy frost on the windshield. So the moose should have been in the open in the mornings and evenings which is when we concentrated our scouting efforts. While there could have been a few moose that we missed, I am...

Where I hunt in SE Wyoming, I'd say they are about 50:50...half color phase and half black. Here is a picture of a black one I shot in 2016.

    Are grizzlies affecting peoples decisions?

The griz population in Wyoming is growing by leaps and bounds. Last year on a sheep hunt west of Meeteesee, we saw 16 grizzlies in one day. Just got an email from Game and Fish...a Wyoming warden was forced to shoot a sow this morning (or yesterday) when she charged him near Cody.

    Spring bear

Finally got a chocolate colored bear on June 4th in SE Wyoming on public land. It was a tough hunt with snow, rain, hail, sleet, heat, mosquitoes...you name it. A bear even tried to steal the bear I shot when I left it overnight and came back to retrieve it the next morning. Will post a...
