Buying my 1st muzzleloader: input wanted

I have a couple of the entry level Traditions rifles, a Buckstalker and a G4. Maybe I just don't know any better, but they seem fine to me. Some sort of cerakote or nitride finish makes clean-up a lot easier. I definitely prefer BH209 as a propellant. I'd recommend getting a rifle with open...

    2021 W

I've been wanting to go to Region A and hunt whitetails.. You should draw that easily. Let us know what you decide!

    New regs are available

I think a lot of B tags will go in the secondary draw. Before, you could only participate if you failed to draw a tag. Now, you can get up to two tags per species through the draw process.

Where U going to hunt this year???

I've been kind of wishy washy on it so far this year. I think I've settled on Kansas deer, 1st season Colorado elk, and Montana deer and/or elk. If I'm real lucky, I might draw elk in AZ, NM, or WY, but not holding my breath on those.

    2020 goals/desires

2019 I hunted Indiana, Texas, Alaska, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, and Arizona. I loved every minute of it and had pretty good success, but there's no denying that I stretched myself a little thin and give all of my tags the time they deserved. For 2020 I'm probably just going to try for an elk...

Anyone ever done a "safari-style" hunt in Wyoming?

I've done it. Wouldn't try it with kids though, unless you've got a month to get it done. Somebody is bound to be upset because you run out of time before they get to hunt their tag. I'd pick pronghorn one year, deer one year, elk one year, etc. Just me though!

    Kansas

Nice deer guys! I screwed up and missed a nice one during early muzzleloader, chased another one around a big sorghum field a few times but couldn't get within range. I had hoped to get back out there during regular gun but it's not gonna happen.

    2020 Family WY Antelope Hunt

I agree with Type 6 tags in an easier access unit. Should be a much more relaxed and fun hunt for the family. Might as well apply for Type 1 also in the same unit(s). Might be a long shot, but could get lucky in the random draw.

Neat looking country and some fine animals! I've only hunted B-Zone, that definitely is some different terrain than where I was!
