Some great advice. It’s nice to see how people are treated here on EF. Really shows the quality members we have. 👍
My favorite part of moderating this forum is the civility. I have talked to other mods in the hunting world who are constantly banning people, I it is a rarity here to have that happen.

I am 300% more productive in life since I have started working out in the morning. It sets the tone for my day and to some degree my week, I waste less time as my brain is firing before I get to work and honestly you feel better with all those things looking at the man in the mirror.

The funniest thing is that there are two people at the gym I workout at in the morning. The older people who are doing their best to maintain their health and people like me who are there to workout for the right reasons. Every one of the people there in the morning has been there consistently.

Plenty fast brother! I think I'm too heavy to get much below 7:30 for long distance but can handle 1mi for 6:30
That's some good work you got going on!
Thanks BC!
I’ve started a bulking program now to try to add a few pounds of muscle before October so Im cutting down on running some, but Im trying to maintain my pace.

I typically dont bulk nowadays but is a 4x12 with 4-5 exercises per muscle group routine good volume for growth?

this is about making your bed in the morning. marcus if you want to change your world, think of this as working out in the morning. it truly is a great way to start the day.

personally the whole speech is phenominal.
Perfect! Ive often said when you do anything, do it to the best of your ability. You may not always be the best but never give less than 100%. I drill my kids (5 & 7) with this mindset.

6-8 exercises with compounds first is what a lot of programs and many trainers will want for growth. Anything above 8-10 reps will work well. Super sets and triple sets especially if isolation exercises are part of the equation. Bonecollector, correct me if I am wrong on any of this.

If wanting to build muscle, I'd move to a 3-4 sets of 5-6 reps on work sets.
However, based on your sporting activities and 'wants', I'd recommend sets of 6-8 reps. It's a good middle ground to build muscle while allowing you to continue 'flexing' the fast twitch muscle fibers while doing so in essence keeping you fast.
Make sense?
Also, reducing your run volume while maintaining a speed day will help keep you in the pace groove. You already possess the base volume if an event comes up which will allow you to ramp up very quickly.

Wednesday work till 11pm so took it as my rest day.

Thursday
It the summit on the first mountain of the 6 mountain series I'm doing on the ifit program on my elliptical. Each mountain has 4 parts. With different style intervals for each part. This one had good incline first two parts the third and fourth were slight incline more sidehilling. It was the first mountain so I'm expecting each mountain to get harder as I progress.

Yes she will be joining me
Curious if this is her first hunt trip? Surely not her first camping experience.
You want to have a good hunt but will need to be sure she is comfortable being out there as well. Heck, I have a tough time finding guys to hang with me.
Looking forward to hearing about your trip. Have fun and take lots of pics

It will be both of our first hunt like this. Not her first hike or hunt though. She is a trooper. We hiked the lighthouse trail at the Palo duro canyon in the middle of July. That was a hot nasty hike. She didn’t take enough water she made it out but she was beat down at the end. It was a valuable lesson for her because I always tell her about being hydrated. But you know how that goes lol. So I think this will be a good trip for her. And yes you are right about making her comfortable. I’m sure I will be carrying some of her stuff too 😂

Goal was 175 on 8/5, made it with 3 days to spare. Should celebrate with some cake and beer, LOL!

Should add that I dropped 24 pounds in around 2 months just with diet change, and scaling back on intake. Don't exercise much due to my job and kids keeping me very active.
