Interesting. I didn't renew because of all the junk mail.
One turnoff for me was receiving renewal after renewal when I had just signed up. My membership was still good for 10+ months.
I may reconsider if I can eliminate or at least minimize the junk mail.

Anymore if it was't for junk mail I would get very little mail at all.

All my house accounts, CC's, utilities, investments, and whatever else I can comes the the internet. The last time that I went away for a couple of weeks I came home to a grocery sack full of mail and out of all that mail I think that I only looked at one or two pieces other than the catalogs that I get.

As for the NRA, I am a Life Member and I still get a lot of their junk mail. Some I look at but most of it gets put through the shredder. It take me all of 5 minutes to decide if I want to look at it or not.

Member here- The mailings do get annoying but occasionally they have something I enjoy reading or take more interest in so haven't contacted them to be removed. Some of you have complained about the NRAs stance on crossbows and airguns but IMO those complaints are misdirected. Take those issues up at your state meetings. The last thing I want the NRA to do is start picking and choosing what weapons they will stand behind.

Member here as well. I agree with most, they are not perfect by any means but I am sure glad that they are here today. I do believe without them, our gun rights would be virtually non-existent.

I fail to see "How it keeps them honest". Actually an organization that offers "Life Membership" loses money on you unless they take the Life Membership monies and put them in a interest bearing long term investment.
it keeps em honest because if they have to keep working for my money ,they will do what they are supposed to do or they won't get it.

once you go lifer, they couldn't care less what you want, unless you keep donating to them and let's face it , some do but most don't

Sadly, there are two major attacks against hunting right now; those against guns and those against public land.

Personally, I believe the attacks against public lands are more dangerous in the current landscape than the threats against guns (Republicans control both houses and the Presidency, plus gun control was unsuccessful even during Obama, Reid, Pelosi. The attack against public land is being pushed by the party in control and is literally in the Republican Platform).

Therefore, I will not support a group that donates and works to elect politicians that are openly trying to "transfer" public lands.

Even if gun control laws were passed, guns have legal protections and the ability to be repealed (see: Clinton Gun Ban) but once public land is gone... it's gone forever.

That's a good point and one that seems to be coming up more and more. Support politicians/ organizations that are interested in public land transfer or support politicians/ organizations that are interested in gun control...

I'm on the opposite side of you though. I won't support politicians or organizations that don't support the 2A. To me it's a bigger issue. Although I fully DO NOT support public land transfer. That's why I steer clear of BHA and other democratic supporting organizations and do not vote democratic ever.

I fully understand your way of thinking and can't blame you. It's to bad we have to pick one over the other but we do. I think it's important that we stick together on both issues though. I've seen it start to splinter the hunting community a little.
