Hilltop, after careful thought and much consideration, I feel I need to correct a blatant error in the title of your post. That my man is not a big mule deer. It's a 2016 post election world now, that Mule Deer is Huuuuuuuge!

The typical side scored 81-0/8. The non-typical side's base score was 81-4/8". Spread was 18-0/8". Gross typical score was 180-4/8". Total deductions are 11-4/8". He has 36-7/8" of non-typical points.

Big mule deer are such a different animal to hunt than the younger ones. I first saw him last year a couple days before rifle season, but had looked for him the year before from a tip from a nephew. He was a 175" typcal with one cheater. This buck would go in a standing cornfield before the sun came up and come out after sundown. Never knew where he would go in or come out, and the wind was usually wrong for a bow hunter. Closest I came was 80 yards when him and his sometimes buddy, a 190+ typical, came out and they walked through a 6" high stubble field and not a breath of air so not a chance of moving on them in the 15 minutes of shooting light. Absolutely no one was hunting him but me, in 4 weeks I never saw anyone even glassing the area. I thought he would go 205 to 210 with a 180" frame and glad Hilltop proved that was pretty close or I would have always wondered. I think the typical made it through rifle so it might still happen with a bow. I really rely on my optics to locate these guys, the big swarovski spotter is worth it's weight in gold. Learned so much from this buck and his habits that I hope I can put it to use on another, his nickname was megabuck. Don't tell Hilltop, but I just wanted him out of the way so I can get to the big typical! So glad he was able to put him down and get our hands on him.

Beautiful deer. That is one of those deer that grows bigger every time you look at it on the wall. There's only one problem, he'll likely make the rest of your deer look like babies.

I sure hope you can get him! Would be great to take pics with the two mounts.
