Way to go Hilltop! That is a awesome buck!I met with an official B&C scorer last night. My bucks final gross score comes in at 211 and net is 198. Two of the points originally scored did not qualify by less than 1/8". The scorer also used a different G3 causing me to lose a few more inches in deductions from the original green score. I was very happy with the final score and also gained a bunch of confidence in my scoring as most of my measurements were 1/8" or less off from his. The guy scoring my deer also said this was a very tough deer to score and contained several judgement calls so to be within a few inches of official score was impressive.
Interesting story- the guy who scored my deer is also the father of the girl who just shot the new Nebraska state record elk. The bull scores 430". The already have the mount back so I got to see and hold the individual antlers. It is a super impressive animal! The G3s are about as long as my arms and carry amazing mass throughout. For those of you that haven't read about the bull, you should take a look. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiXp8Xp3aHSAhUq_4MKHb6XD1YQFggpMAM&url=http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/field-notes/fourteen-year-old-nebraska-girl-shoots-potential-state-record-elk&usg=AFQjCNFEgpwxHZggE1ufRU6_i1ErieC_xw
