So far a great week in the making. The new HIIT cardio is definitely kicking my butt. Hoping by the end of next week I can go every 30 seconds on changing intensity, instead of having to taken 2 minutes breaks by lowering the intensity.

Well, did a 4 mile hike this evening with a heavy pack. have to say that I am not impressed with where my cardio is at. It is time to push it a little harder and a little farther.

Slow and steady will win the race. Be safe Scott. :)

I gotta say, this thread has really helped me keep at it. Well....this and Netflix :) . 3 miles at 3.25mph at 6%...slowly getting better. The weights (bags of shot), however, don't seem to be getting any lighter. Consistency....gotta just keep at it, the Steens are calling my name this fall.

Can finally do HIIT alternating every 30 seconds from 90% heart rate to 50% for 15 minutes. Now I'll do that for a couple weeks then gradually add a minute until I can do it for 25 minutes. That should put me into late March since I won't rush it.

Last night boring treadmill: 5 miles in 49:23 on 2% incline and weighted. Should be able to get the bike out this weekend and I can't wait!

Former competitive bodybuilder and powerlift, so I agree about cardio being a 4 letter word. LOL. I just gotta get out on a mountain bike, or some long hikes with my pack. Trying to spend a hour a day on a treadmill aint happenin'.
