I didnt think anyone was really beating up the 243, just saying Im pretty set on getting her a 243. My 243 will be with me till I die too! 30-30 will get the job done, the antelope I shot with mine in 2013 made it about 2 steps before he fell over
Could always spoil her some.

We are not going that route. HAHA!! I would like to spend around $500 with a scope which will probably be a Redfield or used Leupold.Haha if we're gonna go that route just by her a Borden timberline!!
They're basically the same. The 7 is just lighter and more compact. What is the difference between a 7 and 700? I have no experience with the 7 but it looks alot like the 700 from the pics I found.
Is the 7 a youth model? I dont really want a youth model because I dont want to get her something she will grow out of in a few years and the lighter smaller guns usually kick a bit more. They're basically the same. The 7 is just lighter and more compact.
Im really considering a used Savage 11 with a 3-9 Nikon scope
Sounds like that will fill the need nicely.
My brother loves his savage 11 trophy hunter. That sounds like a pretty good price.Im really considering a used Savage 11 with a 3-9 Nikon scope I found for $470.
