Been pretty hot...90's and the puppy loves the water! Bought this small kids pool for her until she gets big enough and learns to swim in the big pond. When we got her she weight 16# (at 8 weeks) , now 28# (at 11 weeks).View attachment 9901
They can sure put away some food when they are growing like that. It's hard to see where it all goes until you weigh them. I'm glad she's healthy and growing.

Been awhile.....Jenny is now 8 months old now and is doing great. A little headstrong at times, but that is good as far as I'm concerned. Won't get her in the field this fall as I am the one who can't do my part. Recent ankle surgery/replacement has slowed me down, but still get to do some work with her here on our place.Jenny 4 and one half months.jpgJenny big girl now.jpg

Wow, these Labs grow up fast! Mine (Nails) is 14 months. Still a puppy by brains and a dog by brawn!

Good looking dogs CC and AK!

I did run into a small issue with mine that I wasn't thinking about. A white lab doesn't blend in too well in the marsh grass. I had him lay down and I had to cover him with grass or the ducks would flare well before they were in range. Anyone on here camo their dogs? If so what are you using?

You can get a camo wrap around vest for dogs. I have one my Dad gave me that he bought from Cabelas. It is a floation device too.

Hilltop,

Where did ya get your lab from? I'll be picking up a new puppy from Lincoln Creek Labs on 12/29 out toward you. The farm is located just north of York, NE.

I second that Colorado. I had one for my old lab. It worked great on 4 levels - camo for the dog, flotation in the water, protection from sticks/sharp objects, and warmth.

I mainly like them for protection and warmth. They act like a wetsuit for a dog and have saved injuries on my old lab. Watch videos of a lab taking off through the flooded timber or stubbled corn field. It's amazing more dogs don't get hurt.

Haven't checked in a couple days but Cabelas did have as sale on them in the Omaha store.

I got Gus from A couple in York that only has one or two litters a year. The father is from Blue Heaven Labs. Mark and Michelle Grant, 402-366-1753, do an amazing job with their dogs and Blue Heaven can be looked up online- they are also top notch.

Lincoln Creek also has great dogs. We know the family well and they have a great reputation in our area. I think you will be very happy with your puppy! My sister in law is also getting a puppy out of the same litter you are...
