That's a tough one; all my trophy animals have been shot with a bow, but I love my model 70 Winchester 30-06 though. Its pushing over 50 years old now. I've harvested many a critter with it. After this season, It may be finally taking a rest on the shelf or pass it down to the oldest son. I Couldn't hit a trophy muley at 350 with it this year, probably user error, but I never make a mistake. ;) 33051

If I had to choose a gun it would be my 760 Gamemaster 30-06 all day long.
Very accurate with my hand-loads. Shoots 1" groups at 100.
Its a one shot and flop kind of gun for the most part. Follow up shots are quick and its very reliable.
Doesn't have the best trigger and its a bit "Clanky" but it has never let me down.

Below are just a few of the deer I have taken with this gun

2012 This deer actually had a rage broadhead buried in its back....jumped him in the middle of a goldenrod field and shot him on the run at about 100 yards.

I have a go-to rifle that you would think is my favorite, but when thinking about this a while I have to go with the one that has the best history. The rifle is a Model 94 Winchester saddle ring carbine, 32 special, mfg. in 1923. I have an old picture of my maternal grandfather hunting with this rifle when he was a young man, likely in the late 1920's. Grandpa Art used to run his Indian motorcycle with a sidecar into Canada on 100+ miles of gravel road to smuggle in booze during prohibition, and my guess is that's where he came up with the funds for this gun. The rifle was passed on to my father, who hunted with it for a while, then to my brother, and finally to me. I would like to use it for a "retro hunt" in MN, but our deer here in the NE are all but gone. Maybe I can go south to farming country where I can use the 1,000 yard ladder sight. The rifle is mounted in my home above a painting of an honored gentleman.IMG_1957 (2).JPG

I don't know if i have a favorite, but my paddle stock m77 338 has been with me a long time and we have lots of history and i am confident with it.
My ruger #1 in 223 is just fun. Can i say ruger would be my brand, followed by springfield armory.
