Proof Darwin was wrong or these idiots would had been culled out long ago. They should be fined to the maximum by law .
When I logged in the Adirondaks there was a dump at long lake that was a tourist hot spot for bear sightings. The things
I have seen people do in the presence of these bears still amazes me to this day. One evening I had my then girl friend sitting
in my jeep watching bears. There was a clear path they walked down from the woods. A big boar was sitting like a dog in the
middle of the path. This man and woman walked thru the dump, with some smaller sows with cubs already feeding, over to the trail.
They got about 30 yards from the bear. Then he has her walk another 10-15 yards closer and turn her back on the bear so he could
shoot pictures. The boar, clearly upset, was chomping teeth, and slapping the ground with his paw. I thought for sure she was dead.
To this day I have no idea why that bear didn't launch.
You can't fix stupid

When I worked out there someone asked me,"what were all the red dogs that were following around the bison?" It took me a second to realize what they were talking about. I think the same people in these stories and on the news are the same people running this country. Just dumba$$e$ with no flipping common sense. Oh and they can vote...they shouldn't be allowed to breed.
Well said there Matt took the words outa my mouth:rolleyes:

Why couldn't it get sent to a zoo or something similar instead of putting it down?

It is finding a zoo that would take it and care for it until it was off the bottle.

Everyone thinks that zoo's will accept just about any wild animal but unless they really need that type of animal they are going to turn it down.

Also the National Park system practices tough love and believe in letting nature take its course.

If that is the case they should have left it for bear/wolf bait

I have no idea of what they did with the caucus and I doubt that anyone else does either. For all we know they may of dragged it off into the woods to let the meat eaters have a nice free dinner.

I am also surprised that we haven't heard anything from PETA on this. Perhaps they would of paid the cost of raising and the rehab of the calf.

Its a calf. Not really a wild animal. You put it in a pen and get a bottle and a sack of milk replacer. Its not that difficult!

They would have thrown it in a pit and covered with dirt or thrown in a dumpster. With my experience they would have probably given it a high dose of Nicotine or Ketamine to kill it. Probably would not be to edible to the meat eaters. Guess it is possible they could have used a slug to the noggin but highly doubt it.

Just read a story about this- basically they had to put it down because they are not allowed to remove animals from the park by law. They put the calf down because it wouldn't leave the road area. Maybe worried it would cause accidents?
