Wyoming Moose Draw Results Countdown

Haha, I was wondering when somebody was gonna post a thread. Yes, i'm sick of waiting and would like to know now! This year seems worse than any other year because i should draw moose this year. Never seemed to eat at me like this before, probably because it was a long shot previously. I put in for everything, moose,mt.goat, sheep and buffalo. I never draw good tags so now that i should get drawn for moose, i'm sure they game and fish will stick it to me and give me 3-4 good tags and hope i don't have the time and vacation to get them all! That's how my luck is. I havn't put in for any other tags yet until i find out about moose, because my tag strategy will change depending draw results from the 4 i put in for. I know everyone else is waiting too. Good luck everyone!
I'm really hoping I draw so I can avoid spending an extra $500 to draw next year. I'm on the fence with points but should have a chance. I would have drawn 3 of the last 5 years so... fingers crossed.

I'm waiting on the bison results. It's a long shot with the reduction in cow tags, but probably the only year I apply with the fee increases coming.

I hear you there! Does anyone know how much interest WYGFD makes on our liscense money before they refund the money? Or is it like Colorado and they can't or don't put it in an account that makes money? I think Colorado Cowboy mentioned this a few months back!
They don't draw any interest on your money.
Season setting is not finalized until the April commission meeting and they cant do the draw until the final quotas are set.

What kind of an account do they use to hold the money do you know Buzz? I know you have dealt with them alot and the State Govt. Why do they need our money so early and hold it so long compared to deer,elk and antelope which has, im guessing 3-4 times more tags. But they get those draws done a month earlier? Was curious. Thanks Buzz
Would be nice if they would release a report showing the number of applicants for each area with points. I'm sure they already have a report showing that shortly after the application deadline. Many of us would have a good idea if they were going to draw then.

I never understand why it takes couple months for some states to do the drawing, are they doing it manually or what are they doing for couple month from application deadline. I hate waiting for couple month to find out the results. One good thing about CA is that they post the results about two weeks after application deadline, I like it.
Wyoming is just waiting until after quotas are set which takes a little time with everything involved. They could give us a later application date but we wouldn't find out any earlier.
Yep, Wyoming waits until after the winter is over and then they can set the quota based off how the animals faired. I know it sucks waiting but it's good sound wildlife management IMO.
I have my name in the hat for all species. I definitely know one tag is coming my way guaranteed due the amount of points I have.

I agree its a good management plan also. But there is no need to have our money that early if they aren't drawing interest off of it and aren't drawing tags and using it. Hell i can hold my own money instead of them, at least i can make a few dimes on interest then. If they aren't drawing til the end of April, why not have the end of March the deadline instead of the end of February? It would still be the same month of May results but it wouldn't be as long of a wait for actual results. If they can compile all the elk, deer and antelope, get them entered in the computer and have draw results out a month later, they definately can do moose, sheep, mt.goat and buffalo in a month. There are way less applicants to enter for them. No reason we can't have the end of March for those deadlines and still have May results!

I'm real close to moose and sheep tags. I'm actually kind of nervous about getting a sheep tag lol. I'd almost rather have the mtn goat

Good luck today to those waiting. Whether I draw or not it will be nice to be able start planning my fall as everything hinges on these results.

No tag for me... my area jumped 2 points and applicants tripled! Time to plan for deer and antelope.
