G&F may push it as late as possible to gather more animals statistics due to harsh winter and have the additional weather history.
Good luck

It's the 28th every year. Some years they will post a day or so early. You will know by end of the month.

I can't remember if the backdoor was viable last year or not. I think they tried to stop that but don't know if anyone was able to do it. The results on the Game and Fish website didn't show up till the posted date and time.

I don't remember a backdoor last year. In 2016 they drew on the 19th (from the demand index date) and posted on the 25th. Since 2006, I've seen them post the results as early as the 18th and as late as the 28th.

Would love to see them a little earlier this year but I doubt it. The trend has been to post closer and closer to the published date. Their goal is to get them out early enough to allow hunters to make a decision on whether or not to apply for a moose/sheep etc tag which is due on the 28th.

This is what my notes say. There's nothing magic, I just keep a record of when they post each year in my applications spreadsheet. :)

2011: February 18
2011: February 18 @ 7:30 am
2012: February 21
2013: February 20 @ 8 am
2014: February 24 @ 9 am (Pacific time)
2015: February 26 @ 9 am (Pacific time)
2016: February 25 @ 9 am (Pacific time)

In 2016, at the time of applications they posted on the website that the draw was going to be February 25 and they stuck to it. In the past, they tended to post early, but in recent years their trend has been to post on the published date.

Western Wyoming just got another 2 feet of snow around Jackson...along with winds to 90 mph. Knocked down 17 steel electric poles and no power to Teton village & the airport. More snow in the forecast, it don't look good.

Im a lineman for Lower Valley Energy here in Jackson....Its a pretty unreal deal going on currently. On my first break since Tuesday morning. Spent last night in Hoback Canyon fixing power that was buried by a 40ft deep slide. Entire mountains are sliding...and the animals are suffering everywhere...

Point creep may go up a little but I'm guessing a lot of the informed people will hold off applying for a few years - at least for mule deer and antelope.
