Why do people still shop at cabelas?

Goin tomorrow. Need some a duck jacket and shirt. Hopefully I can find some for a decent price. Otherwise I can just order online since all the gear I want is on sale

Bargain cave for sure, that's pretty much the only time I buy from them online.

Having a local store is cool for the experience, my 2 year old boy loves going and looking at all the animals and running around. Also, at the store they can have some good deals on used guns.

I wait for the sales. I use Cabelas coupons & Cabelas bucks. I also wait for either free or $5.00 shipping. And Cabela's return policy is the best. Never a hassle to return anything, can't say that about a lot of outdoor gear sites on-line. No complaints if you're patient, If you're a "Gotta Have It NOW" guy, then the OP is probably right.

I cashed in my gift cards today. I got 10% off from a coupon I received in the mail. I bought myself a Ruger Super Blackhawk 44mag. I've always wanted one, not sure why?

I went today and didn't get a thing. Instead went to sportsmans. Cabelas has a lot but I just like sportsmans better and like their gear better. Ended up spending $370 today at sportsmans [emoji33][emoji33][emoji33]

On the other hand, my buddy got a great deal at cabelas. Banded calls had a package of 1 goose call with 1 duck call, originally $50 was only $17! But that's all he got. Sportsmans had the stuff and gear we wanted more then cabelas.

Pricing is a little high, but like others mentioned they have great sales. I'll price shop on occasion and sometimes it's worth it. But it's usually not worth it unless I find the perfect promotion.

Customer service is awesome, both in the stores and also on the phone.

Return policy is better than anyone else out there. They stand behind their products and your satisfaction. This reason alone has influenced many of my decisions, especially on big ticket items. Ironically the last item I wanted to return something to Midway (this happened recently) they told me to follow up with the manufacturer.

Amazon returned my money before I even had the package to them. Very easy return. I know sometimes you're not dealing with Amazon directly which can lead to different return experiences. I would have never found Black Ovis if not for Amazon. Now I go direct to their site

I don't shop at Cabela's! My Dad gave me $300.00 in gift cards that he got from work so I went and used them on some new clothing. I wasn't worried about the price because of the gift cards. After buying the clothing I priced it out at Sportsman's and the exact same stuff was $15 cheaper. I think Cabela's is very over priced on knives and clothing and I'm not into buying Cabela's labeled items.

I think items are priced so high because they have to manage making up for all the amazing sale prices and return policy items that everyone is raving about.

Cabelas is usually more expensive on non sale items than what you can find on Amazon. I try to only buy their stuff when its on sale. They do have some very good sales. When I was looking for a new GPS a few years ago, Cabelas had the the model I wanted on clearance cheaper than I could find on ebay, amazon and google products.

Cabelas has several stores just off the edges of TN. Not sure why they don't have one there.

This spring they are finally opening one near Charlotte which I'm excited about mainly because I can see and touch and try on things. I don't know how much business I've given UPS returning things bought online, though I do as much of my shopping online as possible.

When I started shopping at Cabelas a long time ago I believe they only had the one store in Sydney (I may be wrong). They were one of the only ones you could get a big selection of hunting stuff from. I think Bass Pro & possibly Gander Mountain may have been out there but it seemed to me that Cabelas was the best. I thought back then their pricing was great. Over the years it now seems that if it is not on sale its not a good deal but the selection is huge! I do agree though that when they have a sale it can be awesome! Black Friday I picked up a new Lowrance I had been looking at and really wanted but could not justify the $1700 price tag. It dropped in half and I could not pass it up! The Bargain Cave can be hot also but usually doesn't have anything I need! I will not shop there unless its on sale - I normally run to Sportsmans, we have one close, but to tell you the truth I don't think their pricing is all the good either but If I need it right now....
