I started my membership back in the 70's and stopped in the early 80's and was back and forth for quite a while until about 2005. I then became a lifetime member a couple of years ago when they ran a special on it before all the dues wen't up.

On the junk mail, if I remember right there is a way to opt out of it but I can't remember just how you have to go about it to opt out of all of their mailings.

I won?t renew after their support of the crossgun legislation shortcutting archery seasons. Too raw a nerve of mine.

Endowment member since early 80's. My 20 year old son is a Lifer. I cancelled the magazine subscriptions to save them a few pennies.
I don't necessarily agree with every stand they take but sure glad they are there to fight for the 2nd Amendment.

There are not many, if any, organizations or people that I agree with 100% of the time.

I did the $25 a month special until my life membership was paid up. I disagree that life membership keeps me from being able to have a voice in future NRA positions, they call me more often now than ever.

So I'll be the first. I'm not.....too much money involved in that organization to do the right thing the first time all the time. I'm disappointed they are missing the current opportunity they have now to really do some good for America.

Been a life member for 40+ years and bought my grandson a life membership as well. The NRA carries a lot of weight politically. If not for them, I can't imagine the second amendment rights we'd have lost.

I have been a member since the 60's. Upgraded to Life in the 70's and Endowment Life in the 80's. Got my son a Life Membership on his 18th BD. Like AK, I don't always agree 100% with everything they say & do, but when it comes to 2nd Amendment issues, they are the only ones with enough clout to keep politicians honest.

Well....I'll get in line as number 2.

I also have these feelings and I only support them inadvertently.

The whole support they have shown and continue to show to get crossbows into archery season really ticks me off also.

I am a member of a local gun club and a portion of our dues go to the NRA. I'm not happy about it but they have 2 sweet sporting clays courses and nice benches at the 400 yard range...so I deal with it....
