Marcus,
If you're up for another challenge, I'd like to see the scale tipping <260 in May. You up for it, or should I say down for it?
You've been pounding some fairly consistent 9 min/mi times over the past few months. Figured I'd up the anti if you're up for the challenge.
I'm open as well... anything to get ready for season. I just need to shake this nagging left rotator-type issue.

Good luck with the birds this season. Hope to see some good pictures.
I think the Ohio May 1st start is too late. Birds are tough to call after that, but I'll be out there regardless.

3 miles in to a 5 mile run my left big toe started hurting last night. Stopped and took my shoe off to find I had popped a large blister between my toes- frustrating. What do you guys use for hot spots on your feet?

Im up for that challenge been stuck in between 267 and 264 for like 3 months now. Maybe a little challenge push will help. Yeah i dont know where that 9 min mile times came from just all of a sudden started getsub 28 min times. What kinda goals you looking at? The rotator issues kinda hinder lifting.

Well, right now I'm training for the toughest 1/2 marathon in the country. I hope to break the magical mark of 2 hrs which is a very tough feat for this course. Past 2 years I've come in around 2:15

Been a while since I posted in here, but I've still been working out.

One goal I've had the last couple years after some of the first few goals fell to my axe was to run a marathon fast enough to qualify for Boston.

For my age bracket that takes a 3 hour and 25 minute marathon which is a 7:49 avg pace.

I cheated a little by picking a downhill course, but I ran the Revel Mt. Charleston marathon this weekend and finished in 3 hours 14 minutes and 36 seconds for an average pace of 7:25 per mile!

https://www.runrevel.com/rmc/results?pk=1526017

That qualifies me for Boston by over 10 minutes so now all I have left to do is to decide if I want to actually run Boston or not.

One thing I always enjoy is passing people at the end of a race when the going gets tough. On the tracking chip information it shows I was in 262nd place at mile 12.5 and from there to the finish I passed 110 people to finish 152nd. They had a chip strip with 1 mile to go and I ran the 2nd fastest mile of the race on the last mile with a 7:07 and passed 11 people in the last mile. For some reason that just feels good to be passing people by when you are hurting!

The big downhill really did take a toll on my legs, I'm still VERY sore a couple days later, but there is no doubt that it helped my time by probably around 15 or 20 seconds per mile.

I've come a LONG way since I decided I needed to do something to get in shape about this time 6 years ago!

Saturday
Rode recumbent bike 45 mins got 15 miles. Wasnt pushing hard since i had a race sunday.

Sunday
ran my first race of 2017 one of 6 i currently have set for the year. It was a half paved half grass course. It rained all night and up till 15 mins before race time. Making the course super wet and muddy in the grassed areas. I did well though setting a new personal record time for a 5k and accomplishing one of my long time goals of getting a sub 9 min mile pace. I took first in my age group and finished 9th overall. I was super close to the 7th and 8th place just couldnt catch up.

My weigh in was 265 so went up 0.6 pounds. So i got 5 pounds to lose this month to meet your challenge bone collector
