6 mile speed run (for me) with 2 miles of 7% incline on tread wheel of death as it was raining again. 48 minutes overall.
I was pleased.

Thanks for the updates marcusvdk. I guess everybody, too. It has been inspiring and helping keep me accountable. A diet might have to be in the cards for me lol.

Finally got back down to my goal weight of 180#, and reached a peak of 22 pullups. The max for 100% on the USMC fitness test is 20, so at 63 I can still beat most of the 20 year olds. We won't talk about the 3 mile run though. I go on trail on Sunday and will be spending a couple months canoeing and portaging.....no organized fitness training necessary then.

After my first elk hunt in '14, and realizing just how out of shape I was...real quick, I have stepped up my working out in preparation of this year's hunt. I have to say that elk hunting, or the training for it, will probably add years to my life.
I have dropped my weight to 165 lbs (5' 7" and 48 years old) and will be at 155 (ideal weight for age/height) by Sept. I was 180 in January.
Alternate days- one day- 3 sets each of 60 pushups, 30 sit ups, and 10+ pull ups then incline 5 miles on treadmill. Next day just run 5 miles on treadmill. Then, at least 2 times per week, I'll take my hunting pack, which has 80 lbs in it, and will hike around a wooded, rough terrain 4 mile loop at work.
I eat alot of salads with either elk/whitetail steak, wild turkey breast, or lastly chicken mixed in for protien, small breakfast with bran cerial. I have always enjoyed chocolate snacks. I have limited my snacks to one per day to keep my sanity. I will only eat one bag of maybe M&M's or one single Turtle (chocolate/caramel/walnut). My main focus is vegetables and plenty of protein and as little carbs as possible. No potatoes, breads, etc.

I have to say that I have really enjoyed how much better I feel from eating right. I love seeing a pound+ come off each week. I can't wait for my next doctors visit and see what the blood work looks like, which mine has never been bad. I just keep focusing on Sept in Montana chasing elk.
