Hang in there Scott. Try mixing in some short intermittent sprints once per week to get used to a faster pace.
Workout are consistent and challenging. Keep after it.

Thanks, I say that every year my goal is to get that average mile time below 9 minutes. The struggle is real...

I have added some sprints to the mix on weight days, probably need to dedicate a workout or two per month to sprints exclusively.

Friday started my vacay weekend. So was traveling no exercise.

Saturday did 20 mins on a stationary bike on weightloss setting. Then used weight machine to do inclinded bench press and shoulder press. Also did sets of triceps pulldowns

Sunday used the pool 20 mins just having fun with my family and then did 15 mins of laps.

Not doing great with the 1500 calorie part. Friday was 1611, saturday ate 2500 netted 2100 after exercise, sunday ate 2300 netted 1804 after exercise.

Marcus,
It's a life style change. Don't beat yourself up over a few calories. That is a low calorie diet for a man! However, it will definitely aid in weight loss. Don't expect to maintain that forever. 2000 is more realistic once you reach your goal weight.
Hang in there and don't sweet the small things. Your doing just fine!

just got back from the accountant. I probably need to go work out and pretend the govt is a punching bag. My business had a good year last year(seems like the pre great recession boom), so I get to pay and pay and pay. Frick you work hard, make the right decisions, have some discipline and the govt just takes it away, because your plan came together. I understand I had to make it, to pay it, but frick. Lets just say I could go get a desert sheep hunt in mexico and a stellar elk ranch hunt in Utah and still have some change.

tim,
That sucks man.

On a different note... I've switched my schedule around. Running in the morning with the wife and lifting in the evenings after work. Its just time to change things up a bit. And, its time to drop twenty pounds for next fall. It seems like I do this every year... cut back on the cardio and put on fifteen or twenty pounds while pounding the weights while the snow flies then spend the spring and summer cutting it off and getting leaner. Go figure, its a mean cycle. Good luck everyone on all your fitness goals.

Tim, I'm an accountant. Your bean-counter should be suggesting tax breaks and other means of spending or investing the money to offset the pain. Still not as good as putting it in your pocket, but much better than supporting the idiots in Washington.
Let me know if you want to talk.
