Good luck 25C. I'm leaving a few days after you. Hope to swap stories!

Thanks guys will be heading out the 9th of Sept and back the end of Sept. Just finished up all the daily food packs for the trip. Everything is packed up in two coolers as usual and ready to load in the truck. I only have to put a few bow repair stuff in a case and I will be done. Ready to roll!! Been watching the closest DOT highway cameras and it hasn't been to smokey south of where I will be but north of it about 70 miles its been thick. Hoping for some rain for everyone to douse these fires. Good luck to anyone heading out soon and be safe.

well the fires have put a lot of land in north Idaho on the closure list. One of my elk hunting spots might be catching fire in a couple of days. that would be good in the long run, not good for this year though. my 2nd spot is in a closure area also, all my elk hunting spots are actually in the closure area. this is a good year, not to be hunting north Idaho.

All I can say is, this year packing out my bull, I felt amazing. 3 trips, steep down hill, knees were a little sore and shoulders just from having a 100# pack on, but man did the squats and lunges help, could have used more cardio, but you can never have enough up there

Finished up last weekends work of loading and unloading/stacking 1/2 cord of firewood.
Long run coming up, unfortunately, it's hazy, hot, and humid....

Wednesday: run 6 miles in 85 degree and 90% humidity. Cardio felt good, but was like doing water aerobics in the pool. lol
8 days until I head out; I think I'm ready for my first elk hunt, with stick n string at that. :-0

Been stacking more wood. Lot of calls coming in for tree removal; if I don't burn it this year, I'll burn it next year. :)

I got back on Saturday evening from a 4 day hunt, and am headed out Monday morning for another week in the mountains. This should be a pretty good elk hunt, the temperatures are about to drop and the elk are going to be ready to rock and roll.
