Biked 35 miles through some WV trails on Monday night. Thought I'd give the joints a break. ;-)
I felt good until about mile 30. Over-all it was a good workout.

lots and lots of smoke in the air, are making working out difficult. I have a hard time doing gym workouts, climbed a hill on my bike sunday and started coughing, due to the smoke in the air.

Wednesday: Cut 2 cords of wood. Cut down, cut it all up and took 1 load. Going back tonight for another load. This is Bonus wood in the event we have another long winter. Good exercise too! Warms you twice!

Ive lost 19lbs so far in about a month. Mt OPS has really worked for me and got my mind set in the straight and narrow. 2-4 miles walks/hikes has also helped a lot. I. Going to continue with what I'm doing till mid early Sept then I'll ramp thing up a lot to get my legs and stamina up for my Nv bear hunt in mid Oct.

I started 5x5 weight training about 6 weeks ago. I strapped on my little girl (26lbs) and went for a 3 mile hike. All I can say is the squats have helped tremendously.

Keep after it Coastal. Hitting the sweet spot!
Working out at the high school stadium with a 20lb pack...up...and down....and up...and down....and up....and down... killer on the legs. Something tells me I am going to be sore tomorrow. Season is almost here for me :)

I'm jealous you guys. It sounds like many are hitting it hard. Unfortunately, I am still dealing with an arthritic hip that has limited my training. Never-the-less it may be mostly guts for a nine day Wyoming backpack hunt. If C.C. can still do it, then there is a way. Swimming and chopping wood will have to do for now. Good luck and safe hunting.

Good luck Ricmic. It's mostly mental anyway. You'll be fine. You know what to expect. Can't wait to hear your stories as well.

Thanks guys will be heading out the 9th of Sept and back the end of Sept. Just finished up all the daily food packs for the trip. Everything is packed up in two coolers as usual and ready to load in the truck. I only have to put a few bow repair stuff in a case and I will be done. Ready to roll!! Been watching the closest DOT highway cameras and it hasn't been to smokey south of where I will be but north of it about 70 miles its been thick. Hoping for some rain for everyone to douse these fires. Good luck to anyone heading out soon and be safe.
