Started running couple years ago, but just got sponsored by a local tri club. So now I'm obligated. Usually hit 5 or six good days a week. Crazy how fast you improve with the right training and coaching to push you.

Had 2 good days, Monday and today. Did chest, Tricepts yesterday, and walked the ranch then jogged up the hills. today did back and legs and biceps with a nice walk to cool down the legs after squats, leg curls and extensions and calf raises. I have to sqeeze all my workouts into 2 days this week, because I will be at track meets for my sons the next two days and then off on a bear hunt with them Fri and Sat.

Just finished my highest mileage week ever.

M - 7.1 miles easy - 9:00 pace
Tu - 6.6 miles easy - 9:05 pace
W - 7.1 miles easy - 9:09 pace
Th - 5.6 miles easy - 8:52 pace, 6.6 miles easy 9:05 pace
F - 7.1 miles easy - 9:01 pace
Sa - 31.6 miles long - 9:41 pace (longest run of my life so far)
Su - 12.4 miles long - 9:14 pace

Total 84.1 miles, 13 hours 3 minutes. Both are personal bests for me.

This was my peak week of training for my 50 miler coming up. My long run on Saturday started out in the low 40's and finished in the mid 50's. My fastest mile of the run was mile 31. Felt really strong the whole way. I think my legs are ready, just worried about the potential for heat and humidity at the race. Race day could be in the 80's with 80%+ humidity.

Still pretty pumped for this week of training though.

Got in a really good hike this weekend in the crazy weather....
I carried 5 gallons of water (for weight) in my pack on a trail that just loops and comes back to the trailhead....got a few quizzical looks :)
ok....holy crap was I sore yesterday! I may have to drop back a bit in weight and work up
Still alternating between walking and weights. Working my way up in weight ssssssllllloooowwwwlllyyy, but each day is better. Sometimes its hard to remember that this isnt a something thats going to happen overnight.......getting old is a bitch, but its better than the alternative :)

Last nigh was tire flips, drag it back, push ups and curls for five rounds. Then 3 sets of dumbell bench press and throw downs.
