While I don't have any tags this year, my rifle of choice is my Rem. model 700 ADL in 7mm mag that I bought on lay-away at Big-5 back in 1980. I shoot Core-Lokt ammo 99.9% of the time in either 150 or 175 grain.
Back-up is an identical rifle in .270 that I bought for my wife in 1983 only in BDL trim, much prettier than mine.

50 caliber muzzleloader - Utah Deer. I tagged out.

Getting ready to hunt Utah deer with my 2 sons. They will be carrying a .243 and a .270 WSM. The WSM is my favorite caliber as of late. Then both boys will be shooting the .270 WSM for a late season cow elk hunt.

Colorado, was Az.
Am I the only one that hunts with a 30-06 all the time :) I have 150 and 180 gr Accubond hot loaded hand loads.......sometimes I get really crazy and load up Partitions.:)
Slugz.... I have two 30-06?s. My inherited Remington 721 from my grandfather which I?ve used on deer and elk open sights. Just bought a new Browning X Bolt Hunter 30-06 topped with a Nightforce SHV 4-14x56 three days ago. Has not been shot yet, soon though, after I get back from my elk hunt. I?m with ya on that caliber.

Tikka Superlite 7mm Rem Mag with 150 grain CoreLokts
Browning A-Bolt 308 Win with 168 grain Barnes TTSX
Browning A-Bolt 260 Rem with 120 grain Fusions

I shoot all of them regularly and just grab the one I'm in the mood for. Whitetails in Mississippi.

Always my .300 win Tikka lite with vortex 4-16x50. Shooting partitions. But I have shot barnes before and that worked well too. Might give move up to 190 or 200 gr though, haven't decided.

In the olden days, 25 years ago ...280 AI (before it was standardized & famous) with a 160 gr Partition at about 2,950 fps and changed to a BT and it was an error ! Should have stayed with the Partition! Next hunt will either be the with the same load/gun or be with a 300 Wthby and 180 Swift Scirocco bonded core at 3,150 fps. It gives me something to ponder on long nights in the winter !

T/C Encore 25/06 pistol for deer. Will switch to T/C Encore 30/06 pistol next hunt, and a T/C Encore 35 Whelen Improved pistol for bear or larger game.
I think I would enjoy pistol hunting. It's on my list for future hunts.... Maybe some day when I can't draw a bow back I'll get serious about it.

I think I would enjoy pistol hunting.
I used to think that too. I wore all the bluing off of my old Super Blackhawk hauling it around in my Blazer while waiting for a good (easy) opportunity. I went to Texas on a hunt, and one of the Smith & Wesson reps. was there. He loaned me one of his pistols and I killed a Blackbuck doe (low cost, low risk). That was 32 years ago, and I have been hunting with handguns ever since.

My go to for pretty much all big game is 300 win mag. It has been the same for 30 or so years. Although recently, I have been thinking about going with something a little lighter for deer and antelope. I am not sure what that will be yet, but maybe 25/06 or 260 rem. Can't make up my mind....

I used to hunt with a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 mag for deer and javelina, I quit using it after a decade or so and then I started to hunt with a variety of rifles, .243, .270, 30-30, and .308. I settled on using an M1A SOCOM with a 16" barrel in .308 cal. I've only taken a few animals with it and got my elk with it last year. This year I'm trying my new Montana Rifle Co. X2 in 30-05 with a Vortex Viper PST GenII scope.

My Tikka 7mm-08 has already accounted for 2 antelope this year, and hopefully a big whitetail in a few weeks. I'll be toting my T/C triumph for muzzleloader season next week.

Since I haven't been the shooter yet, it's been a steady diet of 7mm-08 for my wife and kids, one a Savage and the other a Weatherby. The Weatherby gets one more try for my wife's bull hunt starting Wednesday. After that I have a cow tag, so I'll open up my 7mm mag. My main disappointment is that it doesn't look like I'm going to get any blood on the new .45-70 I bought last spring.
