Just got back from Durango and I was surprised how green everything was. It looks like spring expcept for all the rabbit brush in bloom and the aspens and oak brush turning color to remind me it is fall. Everything is green, meadows have new grass coming up and the hay farmers are getting another cut. We got over 5" of rain in September and it is now really warm, 74 at my place yesterday and not any clouds until later afternoon. Forecast is for the same all week.

Is hot as hell here in Northern Nv. Bad time in Oct to be trying to kill a big buck. 85 yesterday. Had a tiny bit of rain but that’s it. Next week highs in the 60’s so next weeks deer hunt should be better.

Yeah, it foiled my hunt this last weekend. I could have hunted in shorts. It was colder two weeks ago at 27 degrees in the morning

I have a buck tag in unit 231 which I was originally going to hunt on opening day Oct. 5th. We didn't know it was going to stay hot for so long. 🥵
Decided to hold off until the last week of season which closes Oct. 31st.
Hopefully it will be much cooler. (y)
