Well... less than 24 hours from when I posted this and already received quite a few PM's! More than I anticipated so soon. That's great! I think the more people who are interested the better it will be for everyone involved. Keep the PM's coming!
This is brilliant. There's nothing more valuable in the backcountry than a trusted hunting partner. If mine ever tips over, I'll be adding my name to the list.To all who have PM'd... I just sent out an initial email to all of you to get the "Network" going! If you PM'd me your email but did not get an email from me today titled CoHiCntry "Hunters Network"... please shoot me a PM so I can figure out what went wrong. So far there are 34 interested hunters which is quite a bit... hopefully this will turn out to be very beneficial!
My "plan" is to hopefully help some of us who struggle to find dedicated hunting partners to get in contact with each other and put some hunts together with others who are like minded and have the same goals in mind. It will be a work in progress I'm sure. We're currently putting together some type of spreadsheet like you mentioned. If you have specific questions you can send me a PM. Thanks...What is your plan with this list? In my mind you should categorize by what people expect in terms of type of hunt and maybe species. Just wondering your vision once you have a bunch of emails?
I hope to find someone to elk hunt with in CO next year or maybe the year after.
Thanks for the recommendation... working on a spreadsheet now.An an analyst, my (unfortunately) 1st thought was to create a "form" or some type of questionnaire with some of the things people are posting. For example, could list things like:
* Preferred Hunt Locations
* Current Residence
* Age Range
* Hunt Type (Firearm/archery, animal type, spike camp/car camp/hotel camp/etc.)
* The all other misc category
I think it was mentioned by CoHiCntry for volunteers to work on something. I am not able to do much from work as email and some internet access is locked-down and my evening time is limited but I would be willing to help out with a google doc or something like that. Would be interested in hearing other people's thoughts. Also not sure if this is something the forum can support on a technological level.
I will be sending my info out hopefully tonight.
I won't judge... include whatever pics you want!!!Sounds like on line dating to me. Do we need to include portrait photos, or is a pic with a dead animal OK?
Sorry, since I don't use Tapatalk, I have no idea. Maybe someone else who uses it can chime in on how to find it? Have you tried to find it from a computer instead of your phone? Might be easier that way?Still can't find the forum on Tapatalk.
